“The means by which you approach reality codetermines reality" - D. M. Ingram

The Sea Raider lore video is here!

To Boomers, I am the chosen Bootstraps Zoomer. I built my career as an author from nothing. I did the ground floor work. Now YOU can get a really cool Sci-Fi novel that will make you feel things like Dune did. Somebody said my work was on par with Frank Herbert so it counts. 🫵

Let’s assume Ryan Holiday is right and Donald Trump is evil. He then argues that Ivanka Trump can’t really speak on stoicism because by familial relation, she’s participating in that evil, which makes her not stoic. Now let's test this logic. Holiday constantly cites Seneca as a model for stoic wisdom. Someone whose teachings we should follow. Seneca was an advisor to Nero, one of Rome’s most ruthless and paranoid tyrants. So by that same logic: Ivanka can’t be taken seriously on stoicism because of who she’s related to. But Seneca should still be seen as wise—even though he directly advised a tyrant on how to hold and use power. Major contradiction. It never ceases to amaze me how many people who seem intelligent drop basic reasoning the moment Trump enters the conversation.

there are some uncanny parallels between monotheism and rationalism: - the idea that there is one correct, absolute answer to everything - there is a "higher power" (God / reason) which knows no limits, is all-pervasive - you have an obligation to follow this higher power (God / reason) and an obligation to encourage others to do the same

To be fair, it must be difficult to face the possibility that your advice—your empire of books, podcasts, courses, online universities, certifications, coaches, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, accountants—is growing less relevant.
