@spenderallegra so unleaded is around $0.60/l dearer today. A tiny car with say 30l tank, fill from empty an extra $18. And you say the cost of a burger ruined someone’s weekend? I call that BS in spades. You are so gone on renewables that you have lost what critical thinking you ever had.

Remember when the Liberals told us EVs were going to “ruin the weekend”? A friend of mine just posted on a chat that filling up 💸 💸 her tiny petrol car last night ruined her weekend 🥺

@TMFScottP shows how stupid Albo is, Howard did it because it poured oil on troubled waters, not because it would make much difference, done now move on. Seeemple

@AshPolitik Productivity is the answer to higher wages, back to 40hr week, end rostered days off, womens hygene leave, carers leave, maternity leave etc. all these things increase costs to employers and the costs must be passed on giving inflation. Be more productive and earn more, seeemple

Australia Institute analysis shows that if the Albanese government had introduced a 25% gas export tax back in 2022, it would have raised more than $63 billion! "During the post-Covid year, gas companies made up to $40 billion in profit from that crisis." @zalisteggall #auspol

@james00000001 Whilst the Libs sold the strategic reserve in 2022, for a national benefit. Albo has not replenished it in 4 years. So who is really to blame for the current predicament?

Dan Tehan thinks that everything is so simple, and the government hasn't thought of any ideas to make the fuel flow. Labor is flat chat sorting this out, working with the limited resources left by the 9 years of dreadful coalition government. #afternoonbriefing

This trucks lfp battery costs probably $60k and saves $1200 a day Will charge 2000-3000 times Unbelievably dumb to still have brand new diesel trucks on the market
Sydney EV 🔋☀️@sydney_ev

a Windrose #EV Truck, just competed a loaded B Double run from Sydney to Canberra non stop, no need to charge, 100% electric. total cost $50 approx. Diesel would have cost near $500 or more. We have solutions to our fuel crisis.. #auspol #trucking brisbanetimes.com.au/environment/cl…

“Should you get an EV right now?” Not in 2030. Not “when the tech improves.” Not when your mate Dave stops moaning about batteries. Right now. Because here’s the truth most people won’t tell you… 👉 Most people switch that to electric and never go back. 👉 Others try it…and realise it doesn’t actually fit their life. 👉 And most people are stuck in the middle, confused by headlines, myths, and outdated advice. So I’ve put together something simple: A straight-talking guide to help you decide if an EV is right for YOU. No sales pitch. No nonsense. No “EVs are perfect”. Just real-world scenarios, costs, charging, and whether it actually works for your lifestyle. If you’ve ever thought: “would an EV actually work for me?” This is for you. 🎯 First 10 people get access FREE. Get FREE access here: skool.com/electric-cars-…

Can you imagine this lot (and the last lot), in decades past? We'd still have a blacksmith industry, a cooperage industry, a buggy-whip industry, a stump-jump plough subsidy, we'd still be making clothes and cars and Rank Arena televisions. ...and low living standards to match!
Scott Phillips@TMFScottP

Another day, *yet another* $2 billion for the private sector. This time Rio's aluminium smelter in Queensland. The federal government is fast becoming one of the most irresponsible users of taxpayers' money in my lifetime... and that's saying something.

We’re not against an EV road tax. But right now? • Adoption is still low • Incentives are being removed • Cost of living is rising • Fuel prices are going insane You don’t tax behaviour you’re trying to encourage. @JEChalmers @SkyNewsAust @FinancialReview

Once you include transmission, backup, storage and reliability costs, the “cheap” narrative falls apart pretty quickly.

worked on Australian crewed tanker with BP until they sacked us & engaged foreign crewed ships to do exactly the same shipping tasks around our coast. BP said they could save what equated to 0.1c/L @ the pump employing foreign crews This was supported by the LNP govt.

Rio Tinto commits underwriting $7.5b of new wind, solar & battery storage in Gladstone to contract for its Boyne aluminium smelter. Federal & Qld governments will contribute $1b each. Matt Canavan previously declared only coal could keep it alive. #qldpol reneweconomy.com.au/a-slam-dunk-ri…

@AofahKoff You are such a selfish person. Only the rich can afford subsized solar systems that can operate off grid. The poor, like pensioners are left to pay full price including the extra to cover the cost of renewables. Why not shut the F up and stop embarrassing yourself

When, in our history prior to the instigation of renewables transition, did we have an opportunity to determine how much we each pay for electricity or if we pay at all. Solar panels and batteries have given us that opportunity. What is the down side?
