It’s a fair question. My point isn’t that there was no contact, there clearly was. I just don’t think every physical duel is automatically a foul. For me, it looked like a normal shoulder-to-shoulder challenge rather than enough to overturn a goal, which is why I disagreed with the VAR intervention.

This is a scandal in my eyes. There is simply no foul by Erling Haaland on Elliot Anderson. Norway’s second goal should have stood. Instead, it’s ruled out. ❌ Fifteen minutes later, Norway hit the post. Sander Berge goes for the rebound with Ezri Konsa on his back, gets dragged down, and it’s a clear penalty. Arguably even a red card. The incident isn’t even reviewed. 🤯 Two huge decisions in a match where World Cup qualification is still on the line. Credit to Norway for standing tall despite some dreadful officiating tonight. 🇳🇴👏 #NORENG #FIFAWorldCup #WorldCup2026 #Norway #England #Haaland #Football

@yearsOnMe @richardpbacon When you decide you can’t trust the UN, Amnesty International, UNICEF and every major international aid organisation, you might want to question your moral judgement.

@evertonblue76 @richardpbacon You prove my point perfectly Not humanity Just looking at everything in the whole Not just believing one narrative For everyone you mention There are now ways to see if they are the reliable organisation we thought them to be You will be surprised

@yearsOnMe @richardpbacon Well ignore all the genocide scholars, the UN, Amnesty International, UNICEF. Somewhere along the way people like you lost basic humanity.

In every World Cup Match they’ve shown (BBC bang on about their Licence Fee. They’re only showing 1 of the QF, and in general seem to have shown fewer games in this tournament than ITV

@richardpbacon I just wish people like her were actually able to visit Gaza to see for themselves the heartache and suffering the people there have had to endure. Do you think it might change her mind and reform her as a human being?

@balogun @KingJames Our best athletes play football and baseball. Other countries’ best athletes play kickball, I mean soccer. So America will always fall short at the World Cup, and none of us care.

My debut World Cup… it hurts to wait 4 years to compete at the highest level our sport has to offer. I want to say sorry to our fans it was not good enough when it mattered most and we let you down Soccer in America will only become bigger the belief, the talent, and the passion is continually growing and I know the best days are in front of us, the future belongs to those who never stop believing, this moment will fuel us. We will be back Why not us? For the nation. For the flag. 🇺🇸🦅 B

Fifa bans England's Jarell Quansah for two games, meaning he misses Norway and a potential semi-final. Quansah was sent off for serious foul play. US striker Folarin Balogun, who was sent off for serious foul play, got one game which was suspended for 12 months...

Just how arrogant are English sports commentators when as Argentina go 2 down to Egypt, the bloke on @ITVSport says “It looks like England v Argentina might not happen!” totally ignoring the fact England still have to play Norway first? Certainly humility is not their strongpoint

I can’t get over that. I’m so fucking proud. The most emotion I’ve felt over an England game since Euro 96. I was 7 then. I’m 37 now. It’s incredible.
