@eunjae_lee I understand English and French, and I set my settings to that order of preferences. - Most websites (including Google): here's the website in German! French is an official language in Swizterland but the damn geoip suggests German given that I'm in Zurich 🤦‍♂️

This! Just because I live in France doesn't mean I automatically understand French.

Hey my friends in France, have you ever tipped in restaurants? I've never done it. But there was this French guy who told me he sometimes tips, and it was my first time hearing that from a French person. Tell me the truth.

@GakisStylianos @marxallski @TheMaxCoderr Selecting a file through intent doesn't require any permissions. Saving files on the shared storage though requires permissions up to Android 9. From Android 10+, it's not the case anymore

@yrezgui @marxallski @TheMaxCoderr It's always so tricky, and often because the differences are so incredibly subtle. Had this discussion here twitter.com/riggaroo/statu… the other day around sharing a snap of a composable and if it does or doesn't need permission. The differences are really subtle.
Rebecca Franks@riggaroo

@GakisStylianos @averdesh The way to avoid the permission sharing would be to use the file provider solution you showed on Android 9 & lower, but the files wont be discoverable by other apps and photo gallery apps.

🚨 If you use a system intent to complete and action like Camera or Pick an image... YOU DON'T NEED TO REQUEST PERMISSIONS Plenty of top apps fail... developer.android.com/training/permi…

@marxallski @TheMaxCoderr I confirm, GET_CONTENT & similar storage related intents don't require any permissions. It's a common misconception that I've seen implemented unfortunately in apps

@TheMaxCoderr I believe photo picker and ACTION_GET_CONTENT do not require in any version but I might be wrong. @yrezgui please keep me honest 😁

@yrezgui @github_skydoves @eunjae_lee I think so, and I've never seen it before. I guess that, nowadays, in Unicode for Korean, we don't use Korean Unicode within letter combinations anymore(한글조합형). ㅁ and 모 have different Unicode and meaning. It's like that we print two colors on A alphabet half and half to me

Sunday evening's thought while learning some Korean grammar, default computer text editing don't allow characters of a same syllable to be rendered in different colors, right? Eg: 모마 (I want the ᄆ to be rendered in red and the others in blue) cc @github_skydoves @eunjae_lee

@yrezgui @github_skydoves Once you complete writing ㅁ and ㅗ, it becomes a single unicode character 모, meaning you cannot color ㅁ and ㅗ differently. I feel like you're not thinking of Korean grammar, but more of.. an app idea to visualize parts differently? 😂

Shhh… 🤫 @Cloudflare Registrar just quietly rolled out support for the following TLDs: .app .boo .channel .dad .day .dev .esq .foo .how .mov .new .nexus .page .phd .prof .rsvp .soy

@madona_wambua Activities have to be registered in the manifest so it's not hard to figure that out. The actual code content is harder to get though

Someone decompiled threads and discovered they have over 250 activities. If that app was written in Jetpack Compose and is new, why not have 1 activity? Am so confused. Also, why is it easy for their app to be decompiled? The post is trending on LinkedIn. #Androiddev

I was almost expelled for doing this 😅 My keylogger was also programmed to copy the logs to a specific USB device when inserted (my mp4 media player). I would just sit down at random computers on random days and simply collect the logs in seconds. Then read the haul at night.
pikuma.com@pikuma

When I was a kid, I wrote a small keylogger. It was called expIorer.exe (with an uppercase "i") and I ran it in the school's computer lab. I've done many great things in my life, but very few come close to the thrill of seeing my classmate's password stored in a raw textfile.

@GergelyOrosz Proton & DuckDuckGo are great providers. I've heard Fastmail has an integration inside 1Password as well but the issue is these providers get flagged as not legit when signing up for some services

One thing I'm surprised is not taking off much more, across mainstream email providers is proxy emails / emails masking. Emails are becoming increasingly important, as is privacy to hide your "main" email address. What services that do this do you use/would you recommend?

Extremely disappointed by Google Domains sell-off. Great, no-frills product with top notch security thanks to Google accounts. I have no desire to be a Squarespace customer. Time for @cloudflare to increase TLD coverage /cc @eastdakota bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@yrezgui If you're on a Visionary plan, you'll find the option under Organization → Users & Addresses → Add user (in the web app settings). On the Family Plan itself, there's a special section called 'Family group' in the settings.
