3/ Most importantly Bowman has a VERY strong criticism of consistent flip flops in the Fed's reaction function: "In my view, it is also important that the Committee's approach to monetary policy decision making is consistent over time—especially when we are facing shifting economic conditions."

at companies including Pacific Investment Management Co., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Columbia Threadneedle Investments money managers are preparing instead for an economic hit that will eventually trigger a bond-market rebound and cause yields to come sliding back down. ... “What tends to begin as an inflation shock can quickly migrate into a growth shock,” said Daniel Ivascyn, the chief investment officer of Pimco, which has over $2 trillion of assets. “And we are on the cusp of seeing a significant weakening in the economy.” bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

🇮🇷🇰🇼 Satellite imagery shows massive damage at a desalination facility in Kuwait, likely the Doha West complex, after an Iranian attack It supplies nearly 40% of the country’s desalinated water in a nation that depends on it for survival. Tehran claims the strikes were retaliation for Israel's attacks on water facilities in Iran. Source: Drop Site News

🇺🇸🇮🇷 A review by analysts found at least 4 of Iran's key missile production facilities and 29 launch sites were damaged in the first month of U.S-Israeli strikes. However, Iran had planned for this; many of its missiles are underground, mobile, and designed to survive exactly this kind of attack, which is why it's been able to continue to launch them despite being hit so hard. An Iranian missile strike on a base in Saudi Arabia damaged several military jets and destroyed a valuable E-3 Sentry early warning and control aircraft — the first known combat loss for that type. The roughly $300 million plane was hit in an attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in recent days, according to a person familiar with the matter asking not to be identified discussing sensitive military operations. Unverified photos of the jet showed its tail completely severed, rendering it unflyable. The so-called AWACS plane, which has a rotating radar disc mounted above its fuselage, is used to spot distant threats and direct other combat aircraft. It provides a powerful advantage, and although the US operates more than 60 and can replace the loss, the destruction of one is costly. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Pictures show the total loss of 81-0005, an E-3G “Sentry” Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft with the U.S. Air Force’s 552nd Air Control Wing based out of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, following yesterday’s Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The strike appears to have purposefully targeted the most important part of the E-3, that being rear of the aircraft which holds its rotating radar dome, containing several sensitive instruments including antennas for the E-3’s AN/APY-2 Surveillance Radar System.

TotalEnergies dominated the Middle East’s physical oil market in March, taking advantage of the wartime disruption to make a bumper profit. One person close to the French group said its traders had made more than $1bn after buying up every cargo of crude oil produced in the United Arab Emirates and Oman to load in May that was available to buy in March. That amounted to 70 cargoes, more than double its purchases in February. “Potentially, this is the biggest position-taking ever made in the history of oil markets,” said Adi Imsirovic, a lecturer in energy systems at the University of Oxford. #oott ft.com/content/eba87b…

The drone waves lasted around four hours each day, an extraordinarily long loiter time for a drone. It is not known if the drones were fixed wing or quadcopter types, or how they were powered (liquid fuel or electrical). Each wave consisted of 12 to 15 drones, and the drones flew with their lights on, intentionally making them visible.

I'm not sure I'd call it an "attack" but—other than the ongoing war—this should be the biggest story in the defense world right now, and maybe even in the broader media. The warning signs are all there, blinking bright red for all to see. 🚨🚨🚨 asiatimes.com/2026/03/sophis…

Babak Taghvaee - The Crisis Watch
BREAKING: According to this satellite image taken by Landsat 8/9, it appears that, in addition to the KC-135R Stratotankers of the U.S. Air Force, at least one or two E-3G Sentry AWACS has also been destroyed in the ballistic missile strike carried out by the IRGC Aerospace Force at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, on March 27, 2026. In fact, it appears that, the primary target of the IRGCASF was the E-3Gs of the USAF parked there, not the KC-135Rs. However, they also managed to destroy several KC-135Rs. What makes this even more personal for me is that I had previously met and photographed those E-3G Sentry AWACS aircraft weeks before start of this war for my book on Op. Epic Fury. #OperationEpicFury #OperationLionsRoar

IAEA informed by Iran of a new strike in the area of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, the third such incident in 10 days. No damage to operating reactor nor any radiation release reported, and condition of plant is normal, Iran says. DG @rafaelmgrossi again expresses deep concern about recent reports of military activity in the vicinity of a nuclear power plant, says it could cause major radiological incident if reactor were to be damaged. DG Grossi reiterates call for maximum military restraint to avoid risk of a nuclear accident.

COSCO vessels abort Strait of Hormuz transit attempt amid ongoing instability Following COSCO’s announcement to resume booking acceptance to Gulf destinations, new developments overnight suggest the situation in the Strait of Hormuz remains highly unstable. According to #MarineTraffic data, two of its Ultra Large Container Vessels, CSCL Indian Ocean and CSCL Arctic Ocean, attempted to transit the strait but turned back at approximately 03:20 and 03:50 UTC, indicating that safe passage could not be guaranteed. This marks the first attempted crossing by a major container carrier since the start of the conflict. Both vessels operate on COSCO’s MEX service, part of the Ocean Alliance network linking the Middle East with the Far East. COSCO, a Chinese carrier, is currently the world’s fourth-largest container shipping line by capacity.
