this is actually insane > be tech guy in australia > adopt cancer riddled rescue dog, months to live > not_going_to_give_you_up.mp4 > pay $3,000 to sequence her tumor DNA > feed it to ChatGPT and AlphaFold > zero background in biology > identify mutated proteins, match them to drug targets > design a custom mRNA cancer vaccine from scratch > genomics professor is “gobsmacked” that some puppy lover did this on his own > need ethics approval to administer it > red tape takes longer than designing the vaccine > 3 months, finally approved > drive 10 hours to get rosie her first injection > tumor halves > coat gets glossy again > dog is alive and happy > professor: “if we can do this for a dog, why aren’t we rolling this out to humans?” one man with a chatbot, and $3,000 just outperformed the entire pharmaceutical discovery pipeline. we are going to cure so many diseases. I dont think people realize how good things are going to get

SarvamAI absolutely nailed their rebranding. It is completely based on Indian aesthetics, that's an amazing approach to a rebrand, and they fucking perfected it. what an absolute eyecandy

@dravishakatoch You should show them advanced voice mode on Chat GPT and get it to talk to them in their mother tongue…super fun!

Suno(dot)com has become a new craze in our extended family group. My grandpa, uncle, everyone’s creating their own songs and sharing haha! AI is fun, I guess.

I'd use ChatGPT even if it was 20% worse, simply because it has an exceptional Mac/iOS app. Apps are a competitive advantage for LLMs. I so rarely use Gemini these days — even though it's a great product — simply because I forget to use it because it's not native or pleasant.

@malpani Amazing!! I would really recommend you to try Chat GPT Plus options’s advanced voice mode, can speak to it in any language (even being able to switch languages naturally on the go when u ask it to). There is a lot of scope around getting tech like this early into kids lives.

Perplexity should sponsor Joe Rogan’s in-show fact checks / searches. Rogan does half a dozen per show. This gets Perplexity in front of 50+ million people per week in a way that feels very natural, plus adds a new type of ad inventory for JRE, making the show more profitable.

Excited to speak at @ycombinator Startup School in London today! Funnily enough, in 2011, I was in San Francisco, starting my former company. I went to my first Startup School at Stanford University. I actually didn't have a badge, so I designed a fake one, printed it on campus and got myself into one of the best events for startups I had ever attended. Somehow, design skills have always been part of my journey and I have been full circle. Thanks @gustaf for the invite 🙏

I am booking new guests for 20VC. Who should I have on the show? I want people who don’t do the podcast tour, who haven’t been on 10 already and have something unique and different to say. Tag them below and I call you out in the show to thank you. X, work your magic.

@asanwal Cricket is like food. The fast versions are the most popular but the long versions are for the finer palate.

Prediction With the right strategy, cricket can overtake baseball in the USA in 25 years I never understood cricket having been born in the 🇺🇸 and having parents who could give zero ishts about sports of any kind But started watching a couple of years ago Here's the facts: The 20-20 or ODI format is 10,038% more exciting than baseball A USA pro league with deep pockets should: 1. Support the creation of cricket teams at select 'prestige' high schools in certain regions/states and create a baller high school cricket championship and a farm system of American cricket players 2. Start plucking off top minor league baseball prospects and perhaps a few late career baseball stars and retrain them on cricket and get them to go pro in cricket. This will make the sport less "foreign" and add familiarity to the sport by virtue of names/faces people recognize. Done right, cricket in the USA could be a🚀 Note: the test format (5 day) is horrible and would never work in the USA. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk
