@andyhennie @wesbos OK give devs hooks to create their own windows management without the hacks.

@wesbos Apple's window management: retire mission control animations (or quick fix: speed it up), retire stagehand. be inspired by the best linux distros (they've gotten really good), and strike the perfect middle ground between average joes and power users.

what is a bug where you would join the company, fix it and immediately quit?

@thomaspaulmann @wesbos It recently seems to be fixed but it was in the past then came back. If it comes back share your hourly rate and let’s fix this stat

Ghostty was fun, but time for something else. I still love opencode, too but with CC plans dead on it… I’m feeling lost. Full GUI? T3 Code? Opencode GUI? Warp? Back to cursor? Try CC again? Raw Codex? My 🧠 hurts and I just need to keep shipping.

@ThePrimeagen The first coding I ever did as a kid was Commodore BASIC. I have very happy memories of making a balloon go across the screen and other things!

Frontend templating in Blade Powered by Alpine.js and Bond This is using the new parser and compiler I wrote for the upcoming version + some other features like x-else, x-template and multi-root x-if

@_thomasip @thdxr Agreed, but there’s also a lack of mentorship, with AI now taking that role. And we know how… random… AI can be.

@thdxr 1. this is caused by the influx of people who came into tech because of the money. people used to care about the tech for the tech's sake, that's when you have high quality software.

i wish people understood both of these things 1. yes software quality is generally pretty bad and we need to figure out how to try harder 2. there is so much software that needs to be built - making it more accessible with higher level languages, frameworks, AI, services, is a good thing

@ganyicz 💯 and I would not have put in the time to get it this polished. Going from “usable” to “a pleasure to use” is a long road.

@Boptom I’m sure it looks a lot better now, makes it easier to recognize that you’re asking for 2FA and does a better job of indicating the shape of the input to the user

Also works with password managers and.. Safari autofill 🎉 (that one wasn’t trivial 😅)

@calebporzio The otp one is great! So many components fail that you can't click on a number in the middle to change that one. But works with yours :)

Quick poll, with honestly no judgment in any direction. Would you pay for a SaaS if you knew upfront that it was entirely vibe-coded?

There's only two reasons an M-series laptop's fans will spin up 1. You're exporting video 2. The corporate spyware is doing... whatever it does whenever it feels like

@Boptom Ah interesting, haven’t run into that. There is a page about this in Playwright docs (which Pest is built on top of): playwright.dev/docs/dialogs. You should make a PR to support it!

Pest 4 is nuts 🤯 This test runs inside a dummy app and.. • Spins up a Vite dev server • Saves actual Blade files on the disk • Lets Vite extract the JS from them • Serves the app in a headless browser • Tests the actual functionality True end-to-end testing

@FrameworkPuter @JustSteveKing Ok I suppose that makes sense I guess. Still seemed a bit incongruent with the spirit of the laptop range to me. I am very much interested in your portable products and concepts generally

opentui is written in zig which means it can be used by any language we've gone all the way to provide bindings for react and solidjs for some reason that makes some of you really mad - wtf is wrong with you losers

Consequently, the only real ecosystem of UI components for Rails is InertiaJS. Rails developers don’t reach for it because “it’s JavaScript”, they reach for it because it’s the only sane ecosystem for building UI’s with pre-built components in Rails.

The amount of hoops plugin developers have to jump through is insane. @adrianthedev tells the story about distributing the Marksmith gem and the permutations of asset pipeline integrations required 😵‍💫 This is why so many people reach for React for the front-end.
