If food waste were a country it would be the THIRD LARGEST emitter of greenhouse gasses in the world. Basically, when food waste goes to landfills it creates methane. And methane is worse than CO2 by like..80x. It's bad. Very bad. So…today we launch our newest product. Food waste is dumb and it’s time we made it smartr (see what I did there?). The solutions offered by legacy waste management kind of suck. Basically, they offer us a little smelly, pest-loving bin to put under your sink and fill with rotting food. We pay real $$$ every year to have our trash picked up and this is all they got? No wonder waste management is one of the most profitable industries out there... These are the reasons (WHY) behind creating the world’s first Smart Waste appliance. As an entrepreneur, this feels like a problem worth solving. We launched the original Lomi in April of 2021. People who say "DTC is now dead" have never really built a brand before. They were really good at arbitrating an ad platform and knowing how to get customers to convert with mediocre ads and websites. DTC is not "dead" at all. In fact, it's just getting started.
