Male yoga instructor: "Don't do this inversion if you're menstruating." Me: [doesn't do the inversion] Male yoga instructor to me: [loudly, with an angry, annoyed tone] "Why aren't you doing the inversion?!" Me: "I'm on my period. You JUST SAID not to do it if you're on your period. Thanks for making me announce it to the entire class, though" WHY ARE MEN 😩😩😩

@Healthwolf2 @Softnessa_ WTF are you babbling about? Cramps hurt, yes. That doesn't mean women shouldn't be in the gym, you idiot. 😂🤣

Alright, Noted with thanks. I actually commented because she said she couldn't do what the instructor instructed because she is on her period. I felt it was actually about the inconvenience of period pain. In my mind I was like you should not have been there in the first place. You can do your Yoga at home for the same effect.

@Healthwolf2 @Softnessa_ Period pain can be debilitating, this is true. What works for one woman might not work for another, and what works for one cycle might not work for another. If it's not so bad she can move, exercise can help. There was no lie told.

@preachysnow @Softnessa_ I was expressing my shock because women in my workplace are seeking for period leave due to period pain. Just felt to give moral support. But I was wrong on the period pain. Thanks

@Healthwolf2 @Softnessa_ Neither of your comments makes any sense. Well done at spouting nonsense, I guess. Hope Elon is paying you well.

@Healthwolf2 @Softnessa_ bro you're dumb. periods don't stop women from doing anything, you're the fragile one who can't go to work only because you got a little flu or a minor headache.

@Healthwolf2 @Softnessa_ Exercising while menstruating reduces menstrual cramps, improves mood, reduces fatigue, and can help make cycles more regular. So why shouldn't we be at the gym? Are the men going to smell our blood and attack like sharks?

@Healthwolf2 @Softnessa_ Olympians have literally won medals while on their periods, but please, tell us about your vast experience with having a menstrual cycle. The last place YOU should be is around women.

The level of engagement on this tells me I struck a nerve. Interesting. Reading through the comments, a few things stand out: According to many here, period pain is apparently not significant enough to prevent high-intensity physical activity, gym, Olympics, medals, all apparently on the table. Noted. Which then raises a legitimate question: if the gym is perfectly doable during menstruation, what exactly is the basis for period leave in workplaces? The two positions seem difficult to reconcile. If the argument is that period pain is severe enough to warrant time off work, then surely it's also severe enough to make the gym, a place of voluntary exertion, a less than obvious priority. If it's not, then perhaps my original point stands more than the reactions would suggest. Either way, the reactions themselves have been instructive.

@Softnessa_ The gym should be the last place to be when you are on your period.
