The Liberal media woke up this morning and decided to change the definition of recession to help Mark Carney’s government. It’s hilarious hearing them all just say “technical recession” this morning as if it can’t be a real recession unless Carney tells them it is. This is like not classifying someone as an alcoholic unless they admitted it themselves. When you’ve had two straight quarters of GDP decline and the last quarter where it was positive followed a quarter of decline, it seems pretty definitive that our economy is in a recession. 3/4 of the last quarters were declined, but apparently it’s only a “technical recession” because some forecast somewhere says that we could pull out of it at some point. Even though the same forecast previously thought we were going to grow before we had shrinking quarters.

@val_shah @taboola @Outbrain Are you using the podcast image for ad thumbnail and then showing the video on the advertorial? Or still running text advertorial?

🧵 The "Podcast Interview" creative is quietly crushing it on native right now and most media buyers haven't caught on yet. Here's why it works so well on @taboola /@Outbrain for the 45+ demo: 🧵 1/ The format triggers instant credibility. Two people sitting across a table with mics = "this is journalism." The 45+ audience grew up trusting Walter Cronkite. A desk and a microphone is their shorthand for legitimate information. 2/ It's NOT an ad. It looks like content.Native traffic converts on the editorial illusion. A podcast set with product shelves in the background feels like a morning show segment — not a sales pitch. The brain doesn't put its guard up. 3/ The before/after on a TV screen behind them is GENIUS. You get the proof element WITHOUT making it look like a direct response ad. The screen creates distance. It's "they're discussing someone else's results" not "we're selling you something." 4/ Two women = social proof + aspirational identity. The interviewer signals authority. The subject signals relatability. The 45+ female demo maps herself onto BOTH simultaneously. That's rare creative that pulls double duty. 5/ The set design does the targeting for you.Clean whites, product shelves, professional lighting. It whispers "premium health brand" without saying a word. No loud colors, no hype — exactly what stops the scroll for an older, more skeptical buyer. 6/ It bypasses editorial review triggers.Taboola and Outbrain's compliance teams flag red. A podcast image reads neutral. You get the conversion angle of a testimonial with the compliance profile of a news thumbnail. Bottom line: The 45+ demo doesn't click on ads. They click on conversations. Give them a conversation. Then sell inside it. This is why your advertorial CTR just doubled and you don't know why.

The 30 most in-demand startup secondary shares in Q1 '26 (per Setter Capital): - Anthropic hits #1, bumping out SpaceX as the most desired shares on the list. - Five of the top six companies are big IPO candidates in the next 12-18 months. They've been absorbing a lot of investor interest and capital over the past few quarters, it will be interesting to see what happens as they list. - Prediction markets are still hot! Polymarket and Kalshi are two of the fastest risers. Anything crypto that hasn't rebranded as prediction markets continues softening. - Replit and Shield AI are the two other fastest risers on the list. Lovable and Cursor also move up a few spots. - ElevenLabs debuts at #9, tied (with Shield AI) for the highest ever. OpenEvidence and Saronic also make what I think is their first ever appearance on the list. - Perplexity, Crusoe, and Figure both sliding significantly. Anecdotally feels like I haven't seen them discussed as much recently. One notable data point, the average last round valuation of companies on the list was $120B (up 122% YoY). This compares to the average S&P 500 company valuation of $122B. Insane how big the private markets have gotten.

$0 → $300m+ vsl frameworks broken down into one prompt most people watch winning ads and try to copy the surface top operators deconstruct what’s actually happening underneath this turns any vsl into a full strategic breakdown where the audience sits in awareness what core desire is being tapped into which claims feel strong vs vague what beliefs are built before the CTA you stop guessing why something converts and start seeing the structure behind every decision it’s not inspiration anymore it’s pattern recognition basically a system for writing and improving ads faster rt + comment “deepvsl” and i’ll send the full file (follow for dm)

All Canadians should be embarrassed by this. The federal NDP was the official opposition in 2011 lead, the largest official opposition in 30+ years. I previously held the NDP in high regard (never voted for them) as the "workers party", with unions and blue collar grass roots support. The NDP also was instrumental in the development federally of our healthcare system (Tommy Douglas) which is now a core part of our Canadian identity. The NDP of Horgan and Leighton is gone. It's been co-opted by absolute lunatics and I think we should all be a little sad by that.

AI UGC is f*cking cracked 🤯 This fitness transformation video got 15 million views on Instagram. None of it is real. Every frame is AI. Stack: → Nano Banana 2 for seed images → Kling for animation → CapCut to splice it together The whole video is just static AI images animated one by one and clipped into a 20-second transformation. No actors, no shoots, no editing team. Perfect for DTC brands and agencies running UGC-style ads on Meta and TikTok who want to test transformation creatives at scale. I recorded a 30-minute step-by-step Loom walking through the entire process: From generating seed images, to animating each frame, to editing the final video in CapCut. Want the the Loom video for free? > Like this post > Comment "UGC" And I'll send it over (must be following so I can DM)

NanoBanana 2 just made your static ad agency obsolete. And I just open sourced the entire tool. Drop your product page URL. It pulls your logos, product images, fonts, colors, and brand voice automatically. Builds a full brand guide for you. Then generates ad creatives at scale using nearly 4,000 high-performing ad templates across 8 niches. It dynamically matches the best templates to your brand and brief. Here's what makes it different: → Instant resizing Get any ad in 1x1, 4x5, 9x16 with one click. No regeneration. No broken text. → Highlight-to-edit See an issue? Highlight the area and tell it what to fix. → Multiple brand profiles Run different brands or segments from one tool. → Auto persona building from real customer reviews → Multiple QC loops on briefs and final assets Catches AI-isms before you do. → Upload your own templates or use ours Runs locally. Just needs your Claude and Google API keys. This is the lite version of what we use internally. You get the full finished tool AND the open source code to make it your own. Creatives still design the system, this handles iteration and scale. Want a copy to download? 1. Like this post 2. Comment "AI" Will DM you the tool along with a tutorial shortly after.

@Cadeyrnn 39% undecided still. And that is assuming no voters become more undecided when their guy drops out. Crazy how indecisive this race is.

Haven’t asked you guys in a while….. Who are you backing for BC Conservative Leader? Trying to decide if I stay in BC or leave to a different province tomorrow for 3 months. If I don’t get on the flight I’m going to publicly endorse someone and go all in on helping them.

I'm hearing that caroline Elliott might already be at 500k-1m fundraised Kevin Falcon, in 2022, raised 817k total during the entire race (Lee was second at 568k and Ross 3rd at 487k) If the Elliott numbers are true, I'm pretty sure this race is over
