@SBakerMD I’m 46. For the last 4 or so years I complete a 2k row prior to every gym weights session with a baseline finish time of 7min. Due to the seated position it allows the body to be pushed further than most other exercises in a very short timeframe. Brutal exercise.

Total exhaustion! Rowing allows you to push the body harder and further than just about any other sport. You can literally push into unconsciousness on a rowing machine. Something you generally cannot do while running or cycling as you generally will fall down before that happens. Whenever I push myself toward another world record on the rower, I know that I am going to have to endure some level of suffering to do so. I often get anxious thinking about on the days I know I’m really going for it!

I don’t care what Ben Roberts Smith did in Afghanistan, the simple fact of the matter is that if the CCP invaded Australia tomorrow we would be handing him a rifle and telling him to go out and defend our nation. So how can we betray him like this? Australians sleep peaceably in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. Ben Roberts-Smith is that rough man.

We have laws against war crimes for a reason. If Australia was invaded, would we be fine with unarmed civilians murdered? Local women raped? Hospitals bombed? Upholding standards makes the world safer.

The woman on the left is Lt-Gen Jennie Carignan, Canada's Chief of the Defence Staff (first woman in the role). Her medals include: - Commander of the Order of Military Merit (CMM): for exceptional leadership in command positions. - Meritorious Service Cross (MSC): for outstanding performance in operational roles. - Meritorious Service Medal (MSM): for meritorious service as a lieutenant-colonel. - Canadian Forces' Decoration (CD) with 2 clasps: for 32+ years of service. - General Campaign Star (South-West Asia & Expedition bars): for Afghanistan deployments and other ops. - NATO Medal (former Yugoslavia): for Bosnia service. - Officer of the Legion of Merit (US): for bilateral cooperation. The man on the right is unidentified in this image. His uniform indicates a paratrooper or airborne officer (parachute wings visible). Medals appear to be campaign/service ribbons for operational tours (likely incl. Afghanistan), plus standard qualification/service awards. Specifics unavailable without name/ID.

@joelmuzz @AlboMP Yes, some Gym's are notorious for not following through with subscription cancelation requests. First question I asked my current gym BEFORE singing up was re cancelation policy. Cancel anytime via the app, can even suspend for 12 weeks PA if away.

@RobFo1 @AlboMP It is a response to the Adobe case in USA where they were scanning people with $300 cancellation fees. There are presently of scanty web services and gyms have always been notorious for it.

Okay, didn't know it was such an issue for some folks. Typically all my subs are through Apple pay or Paypal. If not possible I don't bother. Easy to cancel.
Rob Fo@RobFo1

@AlboMP What? Where do you get your information from? In 25 years never have I had an issue cancelling any subscription.

@HaveeSnowball I visited Melbourne in 2011 & 2012 for AO. The City & atmosphere was electric. Worked in MELBS for most of 2024 & also the AO that year. All I can say is that the place felt as if it was on autopilot, deflated & had non stop stupid protests in the CBD.

I used to worry about Melbourne. I used to comment on Melbourne every day, or several times a day. But I came to the realisation that Melbourne is dead. It was killed during Dan's covid lockdown. It resembles nothing like Melbourne of the past. So, now it's Naarm. Couldn't care less. Get stabbed. Get robbed. Get ripped off. Get a corrupt government. Simply don't care - it's over to you Naarmites. Enjoy third world migrants. Enjoy your Asian city. It's got no soul. No sense. But lots of people love Naarm (apparently). So live and let live.

Every proposed new law in Victoria now requires aboriginal approval to be debated under a change required by the state's undemocratic indigenous Treaty. Critics say it creates a "two-tier parliament" and gives a small group "effective power of veto". noticer.news/victoria-treat…

More common than you may think. Personally know many people this has happened to. Father re-marries to wife he has for 2-3 years before he kicks the bucket. She gets the lot. Descendants disapproved of the remarriage so chances of a good relationship reduced further to Zero.

My boomer uncle bought his house for $68,000 in 1992, Today it’s worth $1,300,000. He always told me I was in the will. Said I’d be taken care of. I spent years thinking I had a safety net. He died this week. The house went to his wife. Who is 61. Who just announced she’s getting remarried. I am not in the new will.
