karpathy said it best - most people paying for claude aren't actually using claude. they're typing prompts into a $20/mo chatbox meanwhile claude code ships with built-in features that replace 90% of plugins people install and nobody knows they exist i had 23 plugins. deleted all of them. my sessions got 3x longer and my outputs got sharper watch the video then read the full breakdown below - you'll probably uninstall half your setup by tonight

@regent0x_ I have asked myself the same question. When I entered the Claude Code bandwagon frenzy I jumped right ahead and installed superpowers plugin - now I realize it is circa 20% of my weekly skill usage, and wonder how would be Claude Code behavior/perf without "Superpowers". 🤔

@regent0x_ Thanks for the insight, 1 think I'd like to point out, this video is old, please guys stop spreading old videos, AI is not the same after December of 2025, even Andre is admitting it, agents are becoming so much better

@regent0x_ People need to adapt to not installing plugins. How do you know everything Claude can do when it’s built-in? Having to install things served a dual purpose of knowing what the hell you were using at at any given time, and being intentional about it.

@regent0x_ the built-in slash commands alone cover most of what third-party plugins were doing. /clear, /context, /model already handle 80% of it. plugin ecosystem grew because the docs were sparse, not because the features didn't exist.

@regent0x_ Bro writes micro gpts, do you realise they were around in the 60s, I think everyone is swept up in the hype, Imagine having access to everything, then going to work for anthropic rather than create something original, he's the original copy paste king.

@regent0x_ The autocomplete is where you actually start to see the magic, don’t get the same burnout, and maintain a huge amount of control over what’s being written. In the same way that vibe coding just feels a little icky, copilot feels great

@regent0x_ 23 plugins is the exact moment you realize you stopped using the tool and started managing the tool. the best sessions I have are always the ones with nothing between me and the model.

Most people pay $20/mo for Claude then immediately bury it under 15 plugins and wonder why everything feels slow and messy. I did the same thing until I deleted almost everything and started building proper custom Claude Skills instead. Sessions got way longer and cleaner — exactly like you said. Now my whole UGC video factory (product URL → script → locked Seedance 2.0 output) runs on native + a few tight custom skills instead of plugin soup. The plugin addiction is real.

@regent0x_ yeah this hits. most people are paying for the *idea* of productivity, not actual productivity. claude code just works without the theater of finding the perfect plugin. shipping fast beats optimizing your toolbar.

@regent0x_ The real plugin is your CLAUDE.md file. One constraint config that shapes every interaction beats 23 plugins adding latency and conflicting with each other. Config-as-code scales. Plugin ecosystems rot. Delete them all, keep the one file that actually compounds.

@regent0x_ I went through the same thing. Deleted a ton of plugins. Sessions got longer, cleaner, and sharper. The native commands + proper context handling do way more than people realize. The plugin tax is real. Master what’s already there first.
