My boomer uncle bought his house for $68,000 in 1992, Today it’s worth $1,300,000.
He always told me I was in the will. Said I’d be taken care of. I spent years thinking I had a safety net.
He died this week. The house went to his wife. Who is 61.
Who just announced she’s getting remarried.
I am not in the new will.

@AnalogRules61 @end3of6days9 I’m sure someone with genuine and pressing requirements to maximize their online privacy holds your poo-pooing in high regard.
English

@end3of6days9 Ridiculous of the remodel company. However, her fears are also pretty silly. No one could use how your kitchen looks to ID you....or figure out where you live.
English

Would you pay $300 extra just to keep your own home private? 🤔
This woman is heated after discovering a crazy clause in her kitchen remodel contract. The company says they can take photos and videos of her house for their social media and website — unless she pays a $300 “inconvenience” fee to keep it off the internet.
She had a scary stalking incident last year (a man showed up at her home and she had to get a restraining order), so privacy and safety are a huge deal for her. She politely explained everything and asked them to waive the fee — she’s a full-paying customer with zero discounts — but they flat-out refused.
You can literally hear her heart racing as she explains how unfair and insane this feels. She was about to put down her deposit and now she’s seriously rethinking the whole remodel.
Update: The kitchen remodel company is now contacting their attorney for defamation because she made this video.

@magataotao No government appointed Behaviour Change Minister for this lot.

Date: April 2, 2026
Location: A shopping mall in Melbourne, Australia
Around fifty African-descended teenagers stormed into stores, smashing and looting everything. When the police arrived, they didn’t arrest a single one.
This is Melbourne — the city that was just ranked number 1 in the world’s most livable city.
So, what do you all think about Australia mixing in African multiculturalism?
And what do you think of the Labor government you voted for and how they’re managing things?
English

Its always been strange to me how much of the Australian international student industry has been built on a delusion.
The idea that a Diploma of Hospitality from the Bonnie Doon Institute of TAFE is somehow worth tens of thousands of dollars to people from the developing world and that somehow this is going to be this huge boost for their careers when they get back home.
It's really not that special and the fact that policymakers collectively persist in the idea that it is, is really something.
English

@Sanchyoloye @GlobeEyeNews What does “or get approval” mean?
English

The claim is misleading.
It does NOT mean men can’t leave Germany.
What it actually suggests is more like this,If you’re a man between 17 and 45 and you want to stay outside the country for a long time (over 3 months), you may need to inform or get approval from authorities.”
So:
✅ You can still travel normally
❌ It’s not a ban or lockdown
⚠️ It’s more like paperwork for long stays
People are exaggerating it. It’s closer to “tell the government if you’ll be gone long” not “you’re not allowed to leave.”
English

@DennyGo8 @Moonlight_myths Try $150/week before disparaging their calculations.
English

@Moonlight_myths It’s no wonder you’re still at home. $60x4 weeks is $240 NOT $600. Stay home and get an education
English

My mom got mad when I told her I would rather live on my own that keep paying her $600 a month in rent.
I'm 25 years old and have been paying $60 a week in rent to my parents for a while now. I recently landed a decent paying job and this morning, I received a message from my mom telling me that from now on, the rent would be $150 per week. I text her back, saying I would rather live elsewhere. I pay for my own food and I'm not willing to pay $150 per week just for a room to sleep in at my own mothers house. With that kind if money, I could rent a small apartment or even split the rent with a friend for less.

There are no approved reasons.

Starfleet Academy star Kerrice Brooks urges fans not to hate the show because of DEI:
“If it’s not nice, like, let’s just talk about it. Don’t just say, like, I hate it because it’s DEI. Tell me you hate it because of something else, and then we can have a conversation.”
Is DEI a valid reason to hate Starfleet Academy?

@luismbat We are not designed by God to be interplanetary. It’s not going to happen.
English

In 2029, Apophis, a ~370m asteroid, will pass just ~31,000 km from Earth.
That’s ~1/10 the distance to the Moon.
Inside the orbit of geostationary satellites.
Visible to the naked eye.
Impact risk this time is low, but the flyby could shift its future trajectory.
A direct hit would mean a ~1 km crater and regional devastation.
That’s why becoming multiplanetary matters.

English

@AskMichaelTaiwo Moon landing?
You’ve admitted you have no idea what you re talking about, you spiteful hack.

Queer editor James Ball declares Bluesky a “dying social network,” blaming aggressive censoriousness by Blueskyites of perceived ideological enemies:
“There's a large cadre that basically cheers on chasing off any lib/centrist/academic who's the punchbag of the day. There's a culture of saying ‘fuck off back to X, then.’ And the anti- bedtime leftists set too much of the culture.
“I don't know if it's fixable, especially as I think quite a lot of the people here don't *want* to fix it. But at the rate users are quitting they'll run out of targets soon enough, and the rest of us will lose what is – for a fair few of us I suspect – the last fun/useful social network. Sigh.”

@ChrisLloydTV @Keir_Starmer This claim is up there with “just shoot the gun out of their hand” nonsense.
English

A surgeon at my gym took early retirement to go to Palestine & operate on 150+ kids. He’s a maxillofacial specialist & said he’s never seen cruelty like it; the IDF’s ‘game’ is to try & shoot children in the head without killing them.
Why won’t you denounce them @Keir_Starmer?
Musafir@MusafirNafar
A BBC investigation confirms it: IDF snipers are systematically targeting and killing Palestinian children, including infants

Well here we are.

If this bridge was a crucial military target, they’d have bombed it on day 3, not day 33, of this war.
There’s already ample reporting that U.S. & Israel have run out of genuine military targets.
They’re now moving to civilian targets to force Iran to surrender. It won’t work.
Same thing with Trump’s threats against Iran’s electric grid.
This is US/Israel desperation to force a decision without ground troops.
Instead of escalating, the U.S. should stop fighting a losing war.
English

What could possibly be the military rationale for this.
There isn’t one.

@DrewPavlou Most baristas get my name wrong.
As do Indian staff at Nandos.
I never felt the need to cry about it.

At first, I couldn't fucking believe this was a real article. So I had to look it up... and it's real.
This is some deranged, evil nonsense, man... no amount of ideological spin turns a sexual assault into some noble "assimilation tool". This is just morally bankrupt.
Then they use a linguistic sleight-of-hand to dress up sexual assault as some quirky "cultural misunderstanding"... Fucking disgusting.
Anything "quasi" = not consensual = sexual assault... no such thing as a "kinda raped" category that magically fixes racism. 🤡
