Dumbledore actor John Lithgow says "much" of J.K. Rowling's "imputed prejudice" has "been twisted and misrepresented" but "I do disagree with much of it." “The whole subject of Rowling’s imputed prejudice, it came up after everything was already underway. I’d already said yes […] I was urged to walk away, and I was not about to do that. The reasons to do it were much, much stronger than the reasons to protest against what Rowling has done and said. I do disagree with much of it, much of it I think has been twisted and misrepresented, and she has doubled down on it at her own cost... I have not met her. The other positive on the ‘Harry Potter’ project is the people who have taken it on themselves. Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod have an extraordinary partnership. Francesca… she persuaded me, she’s the big reason I took it on.” (via The New Yorker) variety.com/2026/film/news…

Look at the troughs on this chart: * 2000–2002 (post-tech bust) * 2008–2009 (financial crisis) * 2011 (GFC second bottom) * 2016 (global slowdown / China deceleration) * 2020 shock * Today All were the tail ends of late-cycle slowdowns right before small, value and cyclicals ripped.

Copper is up over the last decade but trading at an almost four-decade relative low against hard money gold. Chile's Escondida mine in the Atacama desert is the world's biggest copper mine. The world needs eight new Escondidas by 2030.

@CGInvesting10 If I were just starting out, I'd invest in half growth and half small-cap value, split evenly between domestic and international. I'd invest evenly between these ETFs: $VTI, $VXUS, $AVUV, $AVDV

My father did this. Just straight up quit one day after a meeting and drove home. Retired. At 56. There was ZERO discussion with my mother prior to this. No big hoopla. No talking about it for years. No philosophical countdown. He just did it. And that was that. Done.

Dude one of my co workers just got up and quit mid meeting. Dropped call, starting packing up his desk. Got up, left his laptop and badges behind and Irish goodbye’d the office #BeastMode

@MebFaber Meb, I responded that I highly consider dividends when making investment decisions, but it’s only for tax purposes.

Why would I use the 4% withdrawal retirement strategy? $SCHD can generate 3.4% per year while the underlying principal continues to grow! 📈

The S&P 500 is down 7.3% in 2026. It's usually up 2% by this time of year on average. US stocks are underperforming 75 years of their own history.

@td_nash Laettner for lots of reasons: (1) Epic Grant Hill Pass. (2) Laettner's catch into the post, fake, shot. (3) Iconic image of Thomas Hill crying afterwards. (4) Legendary announcer (Verne Lundquist).

The microwave just went out in one of our rentals. Our property manager said it’s going to cost $468 for a comparable black Whirlpool microwave, installation, haul-off of the existing unit, and a 1-year warranty. Does that sound reasonable or am I getting fleeced?

Once you enter your 50s and especially your 60s, former successful savers and investors should start focusing more on capital preservation and spending, and how they plan to spend. It takes courage to be realistic about lifespans and to accept that you can’t take it with you.

When we compare ex-US developed performance, Dimensional/Avantis is better than Vanguard (absolute and risk adjusted) even before taxes. And they have lower dividends & better QDI, so taxes bite less. Best example that low ER (~22bps vs 3bps) is not everything @ServoWealth

Dimensional/Avantis/Vanguard are the good, bad and ugly of efficient international stock investing. Below are examples of qualified dividend income share - taxed at the beneficial long term federal tax rate of 0/15/20%. Higher QDI is better. Notice the small caps ETFs especially
