Opensea (@opensea) the best platform for NFTs? Controversially or not, I really don’t think OpenSea gets anywhere near the credit it deserves anymore. Everyone remembers the chaos of periods like 2021 but not what it actually built. I fully understand they've made money and BIG money, made some decisions with incentives that haven't quite landed and the token etc but... I think they deserve more from us in terms of respect. At its peak, OpenSea was handling something like 70 to 90% of ALL NFT trading volume and pushed through $14B+ in 2021 alone. That isn't “being early”, they built something the whole space relied on. Now look at my data today and it tells a much better story than people really think. Monthly users started picking up again at the end of 2025 and we saw 450k + monthly active users, which is the strongest it’s been in a long time. It has dropped in 2026 BUT the overall trades have increased in 2026. Daily volume is obviously lower than the peak, but that peak was never real in a sustainable sense. What we’re seeing now is still hundreds of thousands to millions in daily volume, consistently. The NFT market as a whole is still doing hundreds of millions annually, even in a quieter cycle which is still a functioning market. Now if you look at the weekly trades across platforms, OpenSea is still right there taking a meaningful share of activity! And heres my thing and I think people massively overlook this part… OpenSea is where a huge percentage of this space had their “first”... including me! 1 - First mint 2 - First flip to profit 3 - First time making money online 4 - First community they actually felt part of 5 - First SALE as a Founder You really can’t replicate that network effect easily and even now, it’s still one of the easiest entry points into NFTs. Cross chain, simple UI, recognisable brand. When new users come in, they still end up there at some point. So when you actually line the charts up properly, OpenSea is still embedded in the core flow of NFTs. To me, this just looks like a platform that survived the hardest part of the space and is still standing when a lot of noise has gone and they've taken a LOT of flack!

As I leave Hong Kong, I would like to share some thoughts about Zero 10 and the extraordinary work @eli_schein and the team have done. Zero 10 was not a side show — it was part of the show. I would even argue that it stole the show. The quality of what the artists and galleries put out was top notch. The interest from the public (packed to the point of it being hard to walk around) was exactly what we need. This is good for ALL artists. It is good for all of us who have been trying to move things forward in different ways. The road ahead is still long. We can be rebels, independent, and decentralized, but it makes no sense to deny that we need more collectors. Those collectors are out there, and Zero 10 is a first step to find them and bring them closer to this new wave of contemporary art. Galleries like PlanX (Nick and @_mp9x) have their feet in both the trad and digital worlds, and they bring valuable experience. We need more of that. Because the old model might not be the best one, the one we dreamt of might not be sustainable, but there has to be an in-between that brings together the best of both. Innovation on the way to adoption can always get a bit messy. But we are here, we are pushing, we are moving the needle and opening doors. That is not a small task. Congratulations to all the artists at Zero 10. Thank you to all the galleries (and the DAO!) for pushing in the right direction. I am personally very grateful to be able to experience all of this and be a tiny, tiny part. I am here to keep pushing, to help find new doors, to keep supporting, and to hopefully make a difference in this art renaissance. It’s an extraordinary time to be around.

I really really think NFTs will have their time again I just think they were too early for their time Physical collectibles continue to explode And NFTs are just a better experience in various ways Will NFTs explode next month? Next year? Longer? No idea Beeple’s $69m sale was the big moment for NFTs in the past There will be another

I’ve written and erased this so many times, feeling like I couldn’t fully capture what’s truly in my heart. Sometimes, the simplest words say it best. Modest, thank you. Because of you, we are happy. It might sound a little cheesy, but in times like these, it matters more than ever that we support one another, encourage each other, and hold each other close. Because we are all connected. We are constantly changing for the better, and through the power of love, people across distant corners of the Earth can share something that feels lasting—almost eternal. In that sense, things like tax, death, or even the apocalypse aren’t just literal ideas. They’re ways of expressing deeper philosophical narratives—made simple so we can all understand and relate to them. Of course, at the end of the day—it’s a game. The more serious we take it, the harder it becomes. But that’s also what makes it worth it. So… who will be the last one standing? From here on, it only gets more interesting. And deep down, we all know who designed the game. — m.

please stand for the apocalypse, the bigger picture i’ve been watching the response to please stand for the apocalypse over the last week. i see the excitement, and i also see the frustration from some of you who missed out or feel the mechanics were tight/broken/unfair. i hear you, and i want to address it directly. first, i want to talk about the distribution. i made highly deliberate choices behind the scenes to try and make the distribution of these pieces as fair and balanced as possible, while honoring one core principle: loyalty. for the last two and a half years, through bear markets, quiet periods, and pivots, there is a core group of you who have held the line. i wanted to make sure those people were rewarded. i know some of the mechanics and decisions have made some collectors unhappy. i understand why. but in my heart, prioritizing the people who have supported me the longest is the right thing to do, and it is a hill i am willing to stand on. because of that, i am making a structural adjustment. i am adding to the supply of the 13th piece. if you have collected the full set of 12, you are getting the 13th piece airdropped to your wallet. period. if you’re pissed - sorry. floor it and gtfo. but here is the most important thing i need you to understand : some of you are looking at please stand for the apocalypse as a standalone art series. a cool detour. you need to look closer. these 12 pieces are not an isolated gallery. they are/ will be functional, mechanical parts of the death & taxes ecosystem. i am not going to give away the alpha or explain exactly how they plug into the architecture just yet, but you need to know that holding these pieces serves a very specific purpose for what comes next. there is a master plan here. every contract, every piece of art, and every mechanic is moving into a specific position. even if you can’t see the full architecture of the board yet, i need you to keep the bigger picture in mind. the game is expanding. hold onto your pieces. pay your taxes. buckle the f up. if you’re mad about supply / mechanics / distribution - sorry. I did the best I could. all I can say is - just wait to see what happens next. i love all of you endlessly. Except axxaxx - the rest of the project will also be about making sure you are hung out to dry. hope the few hundred bucks you made off my back was worth it. your run ends here. see you all on the other side. m
