And the UFC is, undoubtedly, the absolute greatest American entertainment product that was built out specifically this century. Think what you will of the ways in which fights are promoted and marketed, but this whole event is special. Even at their most gimmicky, martial arts are the product of honor, courage and extreme discipline and commitment towards perfecting technique. It’s as American as apple pie, and if you can’t appreciate someone like Ilia Topuria’s mastery of his art form, then you are a seething loser.
