Of the 9 occasions, cumulative 6-again & penalty count has been against the side leading 7 times, 1 tie, & the first occasion it went in favour was this round in the Dolphins v Manly game. Tigers/Eels game today was the 9th instance of it this season. Game management anyone?

As a kid I loved playing NBA Jam. Years later I find out it was coded to ‘rubber-band’ & keep games close. 9x thru the opening 5 rounds of NRL has a team led by 10 or more at the 20th minute mark. The cumulative 6-again & penalty count of those 9 teams is 18-for & 37-against.

Can we have a genuine discussion about the hip drop here? Kenny gets 1 week, Galvin gets none, and Rouchman gets 4… just trying to understand the differences. Open to all opinions.

@MikeMeehallWood Roosters employed similar tactics for their premiership success in 2010’s as well once Robinson arrived. It’s clear evidence 6-again isn’t the answer for 80% of the field, and even if it was solely employed for the attacking 20m area, it would need escalation underpinning it.

This is where the debacle of manufactured #nrl game flow and play has now got to. Last weekends games saw one team have 24 consecutive play the balls.. Two other teams had 20+ each. A 6 tackle game now with 24... It is these highly lopsided swings with one team defending for extended periods of time that have many clubs & coaching staff concerned of what might now be the potential for serious injury. But hey, ball in play and tv ratings are more important.. And where is the RLPA in all of this? @RLPlayers Fans watching a farcical offering of 20 to 24 play the balls is enough, let alone where this leads with player injury. Repeat infringements should be penalised and or sin binned. Sure it slows the game speed down, and ball in play, but it sure as hell will clean up this mess. @LeagueScenePod @BulldogRitchie He announced the rule change 3 weeks away from Vegas. The NRL is not software. You can’t release an overnight update and expect the players and coaches to adapt. We had it perfect. Last year was the most enjoyable in living memory in my opinion. Climaxing in an incredible GF.

ARL chief Peter V'landys has put the onus back onto players and coaches to fix the dramatic increase in set restarts to start 2026. V'landys declared the 78% increase in set restarts s is a "lack of discipline and the coaches way of slowing the ruck down". 📰@BulldogRitchie

@LeagueEyeTest The politically savvy CEO’s/those in prominent mgmt positions of clubs need to band together to Commission/PVL saying things are changing or they’ll just continue. & given most are still on the Vegas sugar-high &/or want PVL in next TV negs, not much hope of it happening soon.

Ended up at 16, which has just happened once before - Sharks v Bulldogs, Round 6 2020.

By my counts, 11 set restarts in a half has happened just once before - Round 6, 2020 when there were 16 in total. They were only for ruck infringements then, not offsides too 10 in a half has happened 3 times, all in 2021 Only 45 games have had more than 11 total set restarts
