The only trouble with the Tring-Euston route is passing the Ovaltine factory & having to sing the Ovaltinies song* I have a similar problem driving through Marsh Gibbon (if you know which song, you must be as old as me) * For the wellbeing of other passengers, only in my head

Even on a #@&%ing November Sunday morning... Western Europe's least passenger-friendly station doing its thing. This is the queue for ONE train. Less than 10 minutes to departure, but still the doors are closed.

@SRichardBowker But unless there is a parallel improved funding agreement with Treasury this seems likely to lead to the industry being asked to reduce its real terms cost base again. That didn’t go so well last time

@SimonCalder @thomasableman So called Third Party Retailers have been driving growth for years powered by innovation, great use of data and tech, competition and private money! All for a low commission! I chair Independent Rail Retailers and have seen the hunger to drive sales..let them do more!

Rail: taxpayer subsidy of £400 per second to keep UK trains running looks unsustainably high. Some fresh ideas from @thomasableman to entice new passengers and boost revenue. Reserved seats on any train. More first class. Simpler railcards to drive loyalty independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

#whatstation 874 is a big building for what appears to be a rural single platform station. There seem to be two houses as well as the usual offices. Also a level crossing, and a goods shed just out of the photo extreme right. Can anyone identify this place for us, please?

It's now official: Due to the French government withdrawing support & SNCF unsupportive, the Paris-Vienna & Paris-Berlin Nightjet sleeper trains will be discontinued from mid-December. presse-oebb.at/news-oebb-beda… The Brussels-Vienna Nightjet will continue, 3 times per week.
