Thank you for all the feedback and discussions over the past few days. In 2024, airdrops are extremely challenging. Sophisticated industrial farms operate millions of bots indistinguishable from real people in behavioral patterns. This renders traditional activity-based airdrops completely useless for building resilient and sustainable communities. Our airdrop design is unconventional and has its imperfections. But we are proud of the path we’ve chosen and believe we made reasonable tradeoffs. We are rewarding hundreds of thousands of people, creating life-changing opportunities for many of them. We also recognize that many people are upset, having received less than they expected. We don’t take this lightly. We spent several days and nights looking into reports and double-checking data, to understand the full picture and eliminate any possible mistakes. We did not identify major issues, but we also recognize that our communication about the nuances of the airdrop design was not clear enough. To address this, we’ve crafted an initial set of FAQs to address your most burning questions. docs.zknation.io/zk-token/zk-to… We are preparing a more systematic way for the community to collect and prioritize feedback, and will do our best to answer the remaining questions in full transparency. This is just the start of an exciting new phase. Dozens of ecosystem projects have committed to distributing their token allocations to the community (see 🧵 below), and nearly 50% of the total token supply is still reserved for the community overall. Ok so I see a lot more anticipation for the upcoming Sybil list or "The List" as people have started to reference it as. Let me explain what this list is and what it is not -- and what we hope will come from it long term. We started with an enormous amount of data, way more than we ever expected. 469 bonders putting up 0.5 ETH total ($1.6m bonded value) 3,800 threads created by the bonders 22,000 Clusters within the threads to be reviewed In order to make this manageable there are a few filters we set in place to be able to quickly evaluate quality of reports and whether they were worth reviewing in depth. First -- discard any clusters with < 20 addresses Second -- based on our placeholder eligibility, if <30% of the wallets in a given cluster were eligible we would put it to the back of the queue for review if there was enough time Third -- if any report flagged any of the top ~250 addresses it was quickly checked (and usually) discarded. This prevented people from cheekily sneaking in high value addresses into their clusters. From there it's been a pure slog, as everyone has seen from my own feed it's just been a battle. Hundreds of different methodologies, thousands of clusters, often time very hard to pin down unknown contracts or qualify statistical methods -- but it's a battle that had to be fought and I'm super happy about the end result here (will write more on this later). So the end result This report is going to be a large scale (20+) and industrial sybil list and how it relates to @LayerZero_Labs. We think the end result will have caught a massive amount of sybil, returned a massive amount back to real users, and be an amazing piece of research groundwork laid for the community to pick up the torch. What it WON'T be: By the nature of time and us not evaluating accounts that were unlikely to be eligible this means there is a ton of sybil that is NOT included in our list. Amazing reports that caught or may have caught sybil clusters but since there would be no reward for them since they had no eligibility they were discarded. This also means some low volume sybil accounts that are not included in the list who won't qualify for the core LZ distribution but will end up qualifying for some small amounts of RFPs. The issue with evaluating these is some of them have 1, 2, or 5 tx on LayerZero and when you're getting to that point the risk of false positives is much MUCH higher and we chose to err on the side protecting real users as much as possible and minimizing false positive risk. It's a tradeoff to make but we think the most practical one given the end goal. What we hope happens from here -- The @commondotxyz forum now has a permanent log of all 3,800 threads and 22,000 clusters. This is an INCREDIBLE resource and probably one of the greatest all time wide endeavours in combatting sybil. Our focus was on LZ related sybil but tons of the remaining may have high degrees of connection external to LZ with barely any LZ usage. We very much hope the effort continues after our portion is done and the torch is picked up and a final list is put together from the community. We would even be happy to issue a grant for a group to continue this work as it seems like an incredible resource to be wasted. I have absolutely blown away by the amazing research conducted by so many incredible analysts and sleuths. I have endless appreciation for all of you and hope everyone knows we have absolutely killed ourselves in pursuit of paying proper respect to the work you have done and getting through as many reports as possible (team was all here until 4am reviewing reports last night and back in first thing in the morning to continue reviewing). My thanks to all of you, we will have the final results available for public review this weekend and look forward to feedback and anything missed 🫡

@TrustaLabs I'm in the top 1% of TrustLabs media score With 92% but not eligible. No would care how much LP is in your chain if there are no people generating volume. Lp and volume both are important for any chain. Monthly, weekly , daily so all this volume was for nothing?

I'm just curious.... The criteria for entering the initial screening pool for zksync's allocation are relatively lenient. However,the rigorous mathematical method aims to identify real users among over 6 million addresses and transactions in the era, setting itself apart from industry standards like wallet monthly activity, transaction volume, or the number of transactions (simplified as MEDIA Score). Instead, it relies on a similar "assets retention" mechanism found in DeFi deposit projects, excluding over 90% of user addresses? While the intentions in adopting such a strict method are admirable, it is crucial to ensure that the process are equitable and transparent. Otherwise, whether the measures intended to protect the system ultimately will undermine its core values and integrity?🤔

Open Letter to the zkSync Era Team Regarding the $ZK Token Airdrop Allocation Dear @zksync, @gluk64, @Ozhar and the @bankless team @RyanSAdams @TrustlessState We are writing to express our deep disappointment and concern regarding the exclusion of @zkerafi from the $ZK token airdrop allocation for protocols. Our protocol, which launched nearly a year ago on @zksync, was founded on the promise made by former zkSync team members that building on this network would be rewarded. However, the current allocation approach appears to contradict this commitment, leaving our project and our dedicated users marginalized. One of the most troubling aspects of this situation is the exclusion of our users’ transactions from the rewards. We have users who have deposited over $10,000 in LP on @zkerafi who are not eligible for the airdrop, while users who deposited as little as $10-$20 worth of LP on @syncswap are eligible. Additionally, users who generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in volume on our perpetual DEX have seen their transactions ignored, whereas those conducting $10 swaps on @syncswap were rewarded. This disparity effectively renders @zkerafi users as second-class citizens within the same network, devaluing their transactions and undermining their contributions. Moreover, as one of the first projects on @zksync to implement Account Abstraction and Paymaster, we have consistently demonstrated our commitment to innovation and the network’s growth. It is disheartening to see that despite our pioneering efforts and substantial contributions, our project is overlooked in favor of others. Notably, projects like @sophon , an unlaunched protocol unrelated to zkSync Era’s benefits, and @getclave , a project live for only a few months, are receiving substantial allocations of over 2.5M and 5M $ZK tokens respectively. This allocation approach appears unfairly skewed against smaller, yet equally dedicated protocols. Throughout our time on the @zksync network, we have collaborated with various notable projects, including @KyberNetwork , @OpenOceanGlobal , @dracula_fi , @PopsicleFinance , @velocorexyz , and @PythNetwork . Our involvement in these collaborations highlights our active role and commitment to the zkSync ecosystem. During the Velocore exploit, our protocol was significantly impacted, suffering damages exceeding $50,000 due to holding POL LP on @velocorexyz. Despite this, we chose to remain silent to protect the network’s reputation, especially in light of the impending airdrop. In light of these circumstances, we earnestly request a reconsideration of the airdrop allocation to ensure that all protocols, regardless of their size, are fairly rewarded for their contributions to the @zksync network. Overlooking smaller protocols undermines the ethos of fostering an inclusive and supportive developer ecosystem and risks stifling innovation and growth. We urge you to take immediate action to address this issue and ensure that the rewards are distributed in a manner that truly reflects the contributions and dedication of all participants within the @zksync community. Facts on how zkSync can rectify the situation and make the community happy I calculated how #zkSync could make an additional 728,408 users happy zkSync made a big mistake by setting the maximum reward threshold at 100,000 tokens, causing a large part of the community to feel left out and miss the airdrop. This decision also killed the decentralization they talked so much about. They could have distributed a base reward of 950 tokens and made a huge number of users happy. If they had limited the maximum rewards to 30,000 tokens: • 728,408 eligible Total: 1,419,124 eligible If they set the threshold at 50,000 tokens: • 388,452 eligible Total: 1,079,168 eligible I don’t know why the team made this decision, but there is no mention here of the decentralization that the team talked so much about. Help spread this information so the team reconsiders their decision! Airdrop should be based on activities. If you think people can get interactions by doing it with 1$,2$ then find a better way to remove sybils , but people who are engaging with zksync for more than a year, how can you say that they are sybils . they are not community. But what did they get , a ineligible tag. ? I always used one wallet, never bothered for another, always doing little tasks on zksync. Playing games etc. sometimes buying tokens, but what did I get . What about discord roles. All are a big chunk of lie in the name of community. People doing 5k volume, 9 transaction got 100k. And people doing it for more than a year are non community?? .

Big day! Congrats to @zksync getting to this milestone, having led the way in Ethereum L2 development since before anyone knew what an L2 was.
