The Judicial Laws Amendment Act is now on its 2nd reading. The House of Assembly is now debating the pros & cons of virtual Court sittings in Civil & Criminal proceedings. Our overall view is that this is a positive bill save for minor corrections here and there.

We are following its progress keenly. Most clauses are non contentious although care must be taken not to infringe accused person's rights in applying virtual sittings to criminal cases.

In the short period remaining for this Parliament, electoral reforms & monitoring & evaluating IMT's alignment programme are low has hanging fruits. I'll appreciate proposed issues that need urgent attention.

🟡Our security team & local leadership are now leaving Chitungwiza Central Hospital mortuary where Moreblessing Ali's body is being kept. She was found in a mutilated state at the Chisango home. We await a formal report from @PoliceZimbabwe on the murder & demand justice for her.

The opposition MDC-T faction led by Douglas Mwonzora was dumped by several prospective candidates at the last minute before Wednesday's Nomination Court.This resulted in the party fielding only two instead of six council by-election candidates in Chinhoyi. voazimbabwe.com/a/zimbabwe-mdc…

So in the candidate nomination stakes for by-elections, Chamisa's @CCCZimbabwe was spoiled for choice with the head-ache of double-candidates; Mwonzora's @OurMDCT had the face-ache of zero candidates in many wards while ED's @ZANUPF_Official didn't know if it was coming or going!

You couldn’t make it up! Here’s a senior member of the Mwonzora outfit, Tapiwa Mashakada, shamelessly claiming all CCC candidates in the by-elections. They grabbed the name & didn’t get the fight they wanted but found that it had no people. Now they want to grab the candidates!😂
