@Tekeee If you are paying $1300 per month for food, you are a fool. Go to the grocery, buy ingredients and learn to cook. For $1300, you must be door dashing every meal

Housing is about $2,450 a month. Food is about $1300 a month. Transportation is about $900 a month. That is $4650 before you see a doctor, fix a tooth, or buy shoes. This is why everything feels like a crisis.

@UziCryptoo I doubt you spoke to anyone as the scenario looks made up. The numbers don’t say rich plus you did not bother making up their liability info. House payment, two car payments, cc payment and childcare needs to be reviewed for a full picture

@Starseed1756671 @ThatGoblinGuyXY @MatrixMysteries Based on your post, you thing burger flippers should make $150k per year? We learned a few years ago that when we increase the pay for low skilled jobs, all other salaries increase which drives inflation.

“My paycheck goes straight to rent — and there’s nothing left.” Ten years of higher education. A “good” job. No splurges. No safety net. Still dead broke after rent. “I paid rent this morning. I have $47 left. This is what ‘doing everything right’ gets you.”

Older generations say “we all struggled in our 20s.” No, you didn’t. You didn’t pay $3200 for rent and $10 for eggs. You didn’t graduate into $50K student debt and $0 job security. Gen Z isn’t dramatic. They’re drowning.

@Thisismkt @trwsenti You have lost nothing unless you sell. BTW, markets go up and down in the short term but usually up over the long term. Perhaps a CD would be a better choice for you given your level of understanding

Retirement is the world's worst deal. Give us your best 40 years - your energy, your health, your ideas and we'll give you back your freedom when your knees don't work. And somehow everyone's fine with this.

@ebysslabs @Nithya_Shrii Kids from rich families often feel entitled and are unwilling to put in the work required to be successful. Poor kids have a narrower path but it is still possible and the military is a great option.

Just useless post, copied from someone else for X monetization Poor kids in America doesn't have to be poor Adults. 4 years in the military is a equal playing field. School, jobs, career Middle class as well. They will figure it out or can go military Rich kids benefits from previous generations. Or dumb luck but hey, rich people lose it all as well and go to jail also.

Actually a huge loss for us, unfortunately. The Eagles are getting a great coach in Billy.
Jeff Goodman@GoodmanHoops

Eastern Michigan has hired Clemson assistant Billy Donlon, source told @thefieldof68. Donlon, 48, was the head coach at Kansas City from 2019-22 and went 46-39. He was also the head coach at Wright State from 2010-16, and was 109-94. Donlon has been a huge part of Clemson’s success the last few years. The Tigers have been to the NCAA tournament each of the last three seasons.

The comparison that actually lands is wage-to-price ratios not nominal numbers. In 1980 the median US home cost roughly 4 times the median annual salary. Today it's over 7 times. The older generation did struggle — but they struggled at a ratio that allowed accumulation. The current generation is struggling at a ratio that prevents it. Same difficulty, structurally different outcomes. That's not drama. That's math.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump built a trap and walked into it himself... Five Western leaders just called for "immediate de-escalation" in Lebanon while Gulf allies are privately telling Washington not to stop the war until Iran is fully defanged. Trump is being pulled in opposite directions by everyone he needs. The Gulf states didn't ask for this war but now want it finished properly because a wounded Iran with remaining firepower is more dangerous than the one that existed three weeks ago. Europe wants it stopped yesterday because the energy crisis is destroying their economies. And Israel just launched a full ground invasion of Lebanon that could drag on for years. Trump needed a quick win and a cooperative Iran to gain leverage over Hormuz and by extension China. Instead he's stuck in a war his own intelligence told him wouldn't achieve regime change, with allies who won't send ships and partners who won't let him quit. Source: Reuters, NYT

🇺🇸🇮🇷 200+ U.S. TROOPS WOUNDED ACROSS 7 COUNTRIES IN IRAN WAR The Pentagon released its most detailed casualty accounting yet. American servicemembers have been wounded in Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Most injuries came from one-way attack drones in the opening days. 13 killed in action. 6 more died in the KC-135 crash in Iraq. 10 seriously injured. More than 180 of the wounded have returned to duty, but traumatic brain injuries are still showing up days later. The U.S. has struck over 7,000 targets in Iran. Israel has hit another 8,000. Three weeks in. Fifteen thousand targets destroyed. And Iran can still hit American troops in seven different countries with cheap drones that cost a fraction of the missiles used to shoot them down. Unpopular opinion: retirement should be 50, not 65. People spend their best years working nonstop, stressed, exhausted, barely seeing life. Then when they’re finally free, their energy is gone. That never made sense to me. Life shouldn’t be lived only after you’re worn out.

@MatrixMysteries First, $784k is not an average home. Don’t like paying so much don’t buy over your means. Second the math doesn’t add up. To pay that much she’d have to have over an 8% rate. So either she’s lying or she’s an idiot that got swindled. Either way this is not the norm.

An American buys an AVERAGE home for $784,000. After 4 years and $285,000 paid, ONLY $50k hits the principal. $230,000 is PURE interest. Over 30 years she’ll pay $1.6M for a $784k house. This isn’t homeownership — it’s legalized usury.
