It’s right there. THE PROBLEM. Weight shifts versus not And they don’t see it. Or don’t understand it. Or don’t care. Or defend their ego. Or can’t afford truth.

@shegone03 Jeff, your stupidity continues to amaze me. Sweeper is a special type of slider. It’s one that moves more than 12” horizontal. So, it’s in a class of its own. All sweepers are sliders, but not all sliders are sweepers. By calling it a sweeper, he’s giving more details.

When you watch a big league game this season pay attention to the hitter’s belly buttons. The greats: as soon as they swing the belly button turns completely. If it’s facing the plate at start it turns more than 90* instantly. The turn pulls the bat through. The others: their belly button stops/slows when it’s pointed oppo, and the arms push the barrel forward and out run their body’s turn It’s SO OBVIOUS here Don’t talk to me about deceleration and rotation and core strength and connection when you’re using your arms to swing.

@CoachPerk There’s only been one who’s absolutes show up in every great hitter🤷🏻‍♂️ Teacherman doesn’t have a one size fits all because he doesn’t care about style. Clearly speaking on something you know very little about

Hot take alert: We don’t really train with Marv/Smash/Foam balls off the machine. Opinion: The lack of pain feedback/broken bats is a decent proposition in theory, but can also lead to lack of barrel precision. There’s something to be said for “Don’t want to blow your hands up? Seek good pitches to hit and find barrels” Additional nugget: we do our machine work at full distance. Many of the foam balls we’ve tried become hard to control at high speed/spin.

@BSPbaseball @bamahurin It must have been a very good swing at some point. She's on @Teacherman1986 famous resume of hitters whose success he's responsible for. Talk about a low integrity person. Richard now criticizes the same hitter he previously took credit for.

Yeah, we know, you hit .290. In reality, you just took ground balls a lot and it worked out. And it’s ok. I question you because “trust me bro” isn’t good enough and helps no one. So again, say one thing you know about fielding 2nd base that you think I don’t know. I’ll wait.
Fryedaddy/Frito@shegone03

I’m 59 and I played middle infield professionally for 15 years while you were a relief pitcher! The only reason you would reasonably question my knowledge of infield play is that you are somehow connected to this player or the organization teaching this useless drill. Which one is it Trevor? #shegone

@JMikeMLB @lukehtev @MLB He’s simply pointing out the fact that the barrel does not go straight to the ball. Bashing him for showing you that one of the best hitters of all time did not go “straight to the ball” is wild lmao

@lukehtev @MLB Dawg, I was responding to a hitting “guru” who has no idea what straight to the ball means when hitting. Parents and young players need to educate themselves before giving their money away. If people don’t know then they should ask.

It is straight to the ball. That’s exactly what I teach my hitters. Straight to the ball. There’s a difference between Feel and Real. If you don’t understand “Straight to the ball” then I can’t help you. @mlb
GRiT, LLC@gritnj

For those that say “Straight to the ball”: If you look at this path, is the barrel path straight forward? Is it getting pushed forward? Why is the barrel creating an arc DOWN towards the catchers glove? How?! #gritnj

The answer to Jeff’s question is simple. Pitchers threw slower and threw more fastballs. Both of which make it significantly easier to hit.
Fryedaddy/Frito@shegone03

The STUD veteran pitchers who had great command definitely got a little extra. But they earned it! My question is how did us hitters hit for such a higher average than today’s hitters? Maybe we didn’t suck huh? Haha! #shegone

I think one of the funniest things in the baseball community is We’ve really got an old dude in jeans and polo shirts peddling all types of contraptions tricking people with a snake oil routine because one behemoth dude hits lots of home runs.

If a pitcher from over 20+ years can’t admit that the strike zones were WAY bigger, then having a discussion about the modern game is fruitless. They might have been an expert on 1990s baseball, but the game has changed and they didn’t care to learn how.
Robert Stock@RobertStock6

1997 Game 3 NLDS … decided I was gonna watch until I saw an egregious strike call. Anyway here’s the first pitch of the game 😂😂😂😂
