@hirahira22222 Better to do than force their views on everyone and want to sanitize everything fun because their lives are miserable and empty. And if you ignore them they complain to payment processors or politicians or authors so much and often and scream until they get what they want.

@hirahira22222 With the subs it's either a lazy or political translator, with dubs it's usually narcissistic (and seriously untalented) VAs that think they need to change translations into something western 😩 and they know better. And then theres the simps and old broads who have nothing...

@St1ka I mean people can be capable of still liking each other even when you have different opinions. Do i think we have a moral point yes, do i think its still morally questionable yes. Ultimately most of us also want to support creators we just don't want to get screwed over in turn

For years, JP Twitter and Western Twitter heavily romanticized each other. It only took a week or two of auto-translate for the first major clash to happen. The first of many I'd wager. I wonder if bridging the language gap will end decades of romanticizing

@hirahira22222 @BSSXPROMIX The American streaming market is a failure BECAUSE of the failure to unite on a single platform. Gaming succeeded with Steam. Publishers hate it but can't ignore it. Film and TV saw Netflix and Amazon trying to become Steam and started a content war.

@bamboo_milktub And let people rate translations so they can choose the most fitting, youd have almost no extra cost and could solve this problem easily and cheap.

@bamboo_milktub There are fan translators, right now they do it for free and with a desired quality by potential customers, if you can bind them aka give them an opportunity to provide their services maybe with a small per purchase upcharge for using their translation and allow us to buy it.

豆知識。 エロゲの翻訳はテキスト量が膨大なのでめちゃくちゃコストがかかる上に、社内にその国の言語をチェックが出来るネイティブな話者がいないと成立しない。 近年、エロゲの翻訳をして販売するプラットフォームが出てきたり、メーカーとしても海外言語に対応したゲームをリリースする所も出てきたが、その裏には翻訳に関わる膨大なコストがかかっているので規模の小さいメーカーではなかなか難しい事を世界中のユーザーに理解してほしい。 私個人は英語、中国語、スペイン語の翻訳テキストが組めれば世界の60%ぐらいの言語はカバーできるとは思っているが、国内海外のAAAクラスのゲームのような多言語展開はコストが膨大になりすぎるのでエロゲに関して言えば相当難易度が高い。 あと翻訳者の育成も問題で、日本語と母国語を操り、作品として、物語としてキチンと作者の意図や表現をできる人が少ない。もちろん人気のある翻訳者は翻訳の質が良い分コストも上がるので、その分海外で売れなければメーカーにはダメージになってしまう。 1~3MBのテキストを1文字いくらで翻訳したらいくらかかる？って話だ。 また以前違法翻訳者の連中が翻訳したデータを別の違法翻訳者に見せたら双方がクソ翻訳と喧嘩し始めたことがある。そりゃそうだろう。解釈が翻訳した人によって違うんだから。 結局、世界中の違法翻訳者が翻訳したデータを調整、統合するのにも時間とコストがかかり、結局公式に携わる人間がチェックなどをしなければならなくなる。 そういった稀有な過程で生まれたのはMangagamerで販売されているminoriの作品だ。 あれは世界中の違法翻訳チームをminoriのオーナーであるnbkz氏が直接彼らと話をつけて、それをMangagamer側でとりまとめて正式にリリースした。 という訳で英語でエロゲをやりたければsteamやMangagamerで検索してそこで商品を買ってくれ。 そうすれば日本のメーカーにもキチンと還元され、君達海外ユーザーも「正規品」を買ったことにより、ユーザーやファンとして認知されるだろう。 エロゲでプレイしたい作品があればMangagamerのコミュニティーに参加し意見を出してください。 なおグッズなどに関しては送料の問題があるので、なかなか難しい部分がある。ウチの海外ファンの動きだと ・来日して買いに来る。 ・日本の友達を作って代理購入してもらう。 なんかが多い。 あと国によって発送しても商品が届く、届かないが露骨に違うので迂闊に海外からの注文を受け付けられないというジレンマがあることも覚えておいて欲しい。 そりゃもうメーカーではなく君らの国の問題なのだ。 という訳で私個人は「海賊版」自体の存在ははっきりと「悪」であり日本国内のクリエイターに対する敵対行動と認識しているので議論の余地はない。 そもそもエロゲは日本国内の法を遵守して日本国内向けに作られているのに、海外のリテラシーで「購入する環境がないから海賊版でプレイするんだ。」という日本のクリエイターからするとクソみたいな理由を押し付けてこられても困るというかふざけんなっつー話である。 どうしてもプレイしたいなら「クラウドファンディング立ち上げて翻訳コスト俺らでなんとかするから一考してくれないか？」という提案とかなら一考の余地はあると思うぞ。

@Normaluser2023 @emethmu Make it digital, add cleaning tools, add accounts for fan translators charge a little more and it goes to the translators, put in rating systems on accuracy and let people vote on trusted translators, no massive extra cost and you don't have to sell rights overseas

@BSSXPROMIX @azukiglg 文化背景だって自分で調べるんだよ。少なくとも日本の消費者は海外の未翻訳作品を読む時そうしてきたし、翻訳されていても原語で読みたくて辞書を片手に読むよ。第二言語を学習した経験に乏しい英語話者には分からないかもね、多言語と、それに伴って他文化を学ぶ労力と喜びが。甘えだよ。

日本語版を撮影して、ページ毎にAIに翻訳させる程度のこともできないの？

@sikitune What i mean is: it's creating fans of the work and the author => author or publisher hears it's popular abroad but does not make money => company makes official translation and offers to sell it => new fans buy the official release, creators get money = everyone happy. Thanks 🙏
