@Bomberbuzzer @ScooterMcNeice Langford will play wing I reckon. He gets in every one’s way when he plays forward
English

@JakeDav08180745 @PatrickRyen Yep for years our good players haven’t achieved and they aren’t getting better
English

@PatrickRyen I feel the same. Whoever goes out will be unlucky, but there needs to be changes
English

With Caddy, Tsatas, Ridley and Robey coming in, there are always going to be some tough omissions, that’s the reality of a side building real depth.
Love that we’re backing in our young talent. This is exactly the direction we need to be heading!
We’ve reached the point where spots aren’t just filled out of necessity, they’re earned!
Strong availability means higher standards, and players now have to prove they belong every single week!
The more games we can get into this next wave quickly, the better. That experience is invaluable, and prioritising youth is what will drive us forward!
At the same time, development across the entire list remains critical. Growth doesn’t stop, it’s constant, for everyone on the list!
Big calls, tough calls, but absolutely the right ones. 🖤❤️💪

@SilentGhost263 @JakeELee25 Yep give him a go properly. He needs to recognise his opportunity as well.
English

@JakeELee25 yup, hope he gets a good run at it and doesn't get pulled from the team next week if he doesn't light it up
English

WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Give him at least month straight as a full time Midfielder Brad!! if it doesn't work you'll never hear from me about him again!!

Elijah Tsatas is set to play his first game of the season for Essendon. It comes off the back of 36 disposals and eight clearances in the VFL v Footscray. The prolific ball winner gets his chance v Melbourne. @7AFL @7NewsMelbourne
English

@SilentGhost263 @C_Corday And smalls can make an impact quickly at senior level. So if this fixes our small forwards pace, what else do we need to hone in on?
English

@Bomberbuzzer @C_Corday theres a handful of them this year, Butler & Neocleus are rightfully drawing Greene & Wizard comparisons and Patterson & Templeton are probably in that 10-20 range as well.
its a big class for forwards this year, works perfectly for us.
English

@SilentGhost263 @C_Corday Only the absolute elite small mids go in top 10, fewer in top 5.
English

@C_Corday think the wind has shifted a bit with the way the game is now, lots of smalls picked early of recent, the Picketts, Watson, Greene, Reid, Dovaston etc.
theres not alot of mids in the class in general, more talls and smalls which is probably why we loaded up heavily last year.
English

@Tommy_Wolfe7 @JamesLowrie24 @BomberRicko @readingtheplay1 Game style was big change. They had Vickery as back up ruck, they got rid of him and were completely dynamic with Riewoldt as an exceptional full forward.
English

@JamesLowrie24 @BomberRicko @readingtheplay1 It really was the perfect coming together of a list and a game style.
English

Something changed at Richmond heading towards 2017.
It wasn’t talent. It wasn’t tactics.
Essendon are facing a similar moment. History says they’ll get it wrong ... but this feels different 👀

English

@VonStruth @EmlynBreese So he could have said it about the other 30 players too then?
English

@EmlynBreese Did you miss the IF, I know its a hard thing to comprehend.
English

okay but he's done it across 4 games and there are 236 players who have had 50% of their chains resulting in score across 4 consecutive matches within a season at least once from 2021 onwards (and that's without rucks with HTA)
Sportsday@SENSportsday
"He is that far their best player it's not funny. He is their most important player. Right now when he is involved in a chain, they are scoring one in two times. If that keeps going across the season, we've never seen a player do that." - Daniel Hoyne on Nick Watson #AFL
English

@CharlieDons @PatrickRyen @AnthP_ Probably lazy by Dogs not to have covered. Not going to be able to get away with that very often

Essendon Rd4 review 🆙 on #thebombersblog
Here I look at the difference between the ~2 halves for 🔴⚫️ (with numbers of course) as well as the method change with the footy (finally)
P.S I hope the change continues

English

@AnthP_ @ScooterMcNeice Was he ever a midfielder? Short bursts, running through the contest maybe but agree with Anthony, his power and athleticism one on one is dangerous.
English

@ScooterMcNeice Not off Sunday’s performance. 1 x first poss, 3 x Pre Clr Cont poss & 0 x hardball ❌
I don’t think he’s a long term option in there either, I’d prefer him winning contests post clearance ahead of the ball. Bar Zach, Darcy & Jye, there’s only Kako, Duz & Roberts as options atm
English

@CraiG_Mc Had one tackle but low metres gained. So if he was playing inside the contest (low metres might suggest) then he should have more tackles.
English

Darcy Parish…
Can someone respectfully tell me what you think is missing from his game, what you’d like to see more of, and (if you think he should be dropped) who you think is better suited to come in and provide that?
I know he hasn’t been at his best, but he’s not the only one. I just feel like he’s building into the season, was better on Sunday night, and will keep improving. But that’s just me 🤷🏻
#GoDons
English

@mattywarner Yeah went early on Reid but would also be cautious with him. If Reid plays, Ridley has to come in for someone
English

@Bomberbuzzer 100% Agree with those ‘ins’ but think you’d need to drop a mid to bring in Tsatas.
I’d drop Perkins & Parish before Reid or Prior & I’d only drop Reid if his hammy needs a rest.
English

@MrCricketAust A past Hawks player expert. I think why keeping Zach was important was shown against the Bulldogs.
English

@stretch185 The alternative is Blakiston….think he will towel whoever we put up
English

@Bomberbuzzer If you're going to dish Wright and May up to Gawn, you may as well just give Melbourne the 4 points now....
English

@stretch185 Reid is a key position and Ridley isn’t. So Blakiston goes back and wright goes into ruck. May was the second ruck late in game. So Parish and Caldwell also have no flexibility and under performed again
English

@Bomberbuzzer Ridley for Reid the only suggested change that makes any sense! Wright, May or Edwards have to make way for Caddy or we'll be too tall. And Tsatas can only play full inside mid, he has no flexibility. You'd have to drop Parish or Caldwell to bring him in....
English

@JakeDav08180745 No that’s not ok. But she was being disrespectful and she knows what she will cop.
English

@Bomberbuzzer She got death threats. It doesn’t matter what you think about her. That’s never ok
English

This is such a none issue. Shame on any fan who sent her hate messages

It's fair to say a few eyebrows were raised about the post during last night's game. FULL DISCUSSION + INTERVIEW 👉 nine.social/16TS

@lew43332071 No are you. You want Gresham in the team longterm.
English

@hpglassford @JulesJulesdina Think how unlikely this is. I travelled on a highway and it was the quietest I have ever seen it in the middle of the day
English

Fuel consumption is up 30% on last Easter.
WTF is wrong with people? Where are they putting it all?
