The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has released a response to JD Vance's comments about Pope Leo XIV: 'For over a thousand years, the Catholic Church has taught just war theory and it is that long tradition the Holy Father carefully references in his comments on war. A constant tenet of that thousand-year tradition is a nation can only legitimately take up the sword ‘in self-defense, once all peace efforts have failed’ That is, to be a just war it must be a defense against another who actively wages war, which is what the Holy Father actually said: ‘He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war. When Pope Leo XIV speaks as supreme pastor of the universal Church, he is not merely offering opinions on theology, he is preaching the Gospel and exercising his ministry as the Vicar of Christ. The consistent teaching of the Church is insistent that all people of good will must pray and work toward lasting peace while avoiding the evils and injustices that accompany all wars'

A religious leader's job is to protect peace and life, not to support "just wars" that kill thousands of people. Does Johnson think he knows Jesus better than the Pope? Some people call this "politics," but I call it "truth"! Jesus said "blessed are the peacemakers," not "blessed are the war makers." If a religious leader cannot speak for peace, then who can? Is Johnson a real Christian or just a politician who loves weapons?🤔 This is not about "political response," this is about losing our souls for power! As Catholics, we are taught that all of us are created in the image of God. We are instructed to strive for peace and to recognize the dignity of all people. The idea that Donald Trump would instead choose to lash out at the pope, claim credit for his elevation, and call him ‘weak,’ is both offensive and morally repugnant. Pope Leo continues to lead by example, reaffirming that he is not afraid of the Trump administration and will continue to speak out about the values found in Scripture. I call on all Republicans to condemn Trump’s divisive words and hateful actions.

As a Catholic, I find it abhorrent that the President of the United States would publicly attack the Successor of St. Peter. Donald Trump is flailing. His war in Iran has led to the death and injury of American servicemembers and the death of Iranian children. He will attack anyone or anything to try to protect himself, even the Church that millions of Americans find faith and comfort in every day. The American people deserve a president who understands the consequences of his words and takes responsibility for his actions.

Eric Swalwell(D) and Tony Gonzales(R) both announce their resignations today from Congress. Both Congressmen were linked to Jeffrey Epstein type sexual issues. I resigned from Congress because I fought President Trump to release the Epstein files and he called me a traitor and threatened to destroy me. And to this day, no one in the Epstein files has been prosecuted. And Congress is still a cesspool.

Macron has just announced that France and the UK will soon host talks to create a “peaceful multinational mission” in the Strait of Hormuz. He claims it will be “strictly defensive” and ready to deploy as soon as needed. While Trump imposes a real naval blockade, Starmer and Macron are putting together another toothless European talking shop. Britain is once again being dragged into foreign adventures while our own borders, streets and military crumble. Weak leadership at its finest.
