The claim made by TVK @TVKPartyHQ Minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar @CTR_Nirmalkumar that a runway cannot be constructed at Parandur is factually incorrect, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to mislead the people of Tamil Nadu.
The previous @arivalayam DMK government selected Parandur as the site for Chennai’s second Greenfield Airport, acquired thousands of acres of land, and pushed the project forward. AAI’s pre-feasibility study confirmed the site’s suitability, including for dual runways of 4040m x 45m with proper orientation matching Chennai airport traffic. The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation granted site clearance in July 2024 and in-principle approval in 2025 after multi-agency scrutiny by AAI, DGCA, Ministry of Defence, and others.
Water bodies (approx. 26.5% of the site per official records) were known, assessed, and expert committees recommended mitigation measures including diversion, conservation, and advanced engineering for stable runway foundation. Runway construction on challenging terrain is standard in modern aviation with proven techniques like soil stabilization and drainage systems.
Now, the TVK government is suddenly declaring the same runway “impossible” — this is a clear political U-turn to appease their leader’s protest history, not a genuine technical concern.
Minister Nirmal Kumar’s statement is a shameful excuse that exposes their anti-development agenda. This will deny thousands of jobs, cripple economic growth, and leave Chennai’s aviation congestion unresolved for years.
BJP @BJP4TamilNadu strongly condemns this misinformation, hypocrisy, and sabotage of a project actively promoted by the previous DMK government and cleared by the Centre.
We demand the TVK government stop betraying Tamil Nadu’s future, respect the runway clearances already granted, and immediately proceed with the Parandur project or present a truly superior alternative without further delay and public money wastage.
Tamil Nadu deserves development and jobs — not political drama and falsehoods.

It's been almost 20 years since I got my Airtel connection, and I've easily paid them more than Rs. 25 lakh in that time. I can't think of any other business that has made even close to this much money from me.
Now the reason why I am saying this is I was watching the latest episode of the Intermission by @TheKenWeb. In case you haven't checked it out, it's a wonderful show on the history of some of the biggest businesses in India. Their latest episode is about Airtel and Rohin, and Seetharaman traced the entire Airtel journey, and I didn't realize that Airtel has had many, many near-death experiences and yet always came out stronger to be the business that it is today.

This is the incident of Bangalore BTM layout Main Tavarekere Road. When I was coming back from office a drunk cab driver was standing middle of the lane from where I have to go inside and I have to park my vehicle. So I honk him to 3 times but on the fourth he start abusing and rest is in the video I am the person who is driving the blue colour venue car and I kept Cab car is white colour. A person from second floor recorded this video and shared to me for a better proof of the incident that has happened!
