Charging the Southern Poverty Law Center with a federal crime for paying informants to help dismantle hate groups is an outrageous weaponization of the Dept of Justice and the FBI. As someone who has been a prosecutor and has taken on the Klan I can tell you that use of paid informants is a common tactic used to dismantle drug cartels, the mob and extremist groups on both the right and the left. It is clear that all civil rights organizations are in the cross hairs of this Administration and that folks, puts everyone at risk.

Sure, the naval blockade is hurting Iran, no doubt. But, the reason President Trump is trying so hard to end this conflict is another 4 to 6 weeks of the Strait of Hormuz being closed and a global recession becomes the base case. This is already the biggest global energy shock since the 1970s. Iran doesn't have to make it six months they just have to probably make it another month before the entire world is on its knees.

The Department of Justice has charged the Southern Poverty Law Center with fraud for misleading donors and lying to financial institutions – allegedly by paying members of violent extremist groups millions of dollars to act as informants. The law center interim president said the group had long used informants and called the indictment a political attack by the Trump administration.
