@15DT15 @JerryTurin @FailedRift No shit... because all of our best athletes are playing other sports. Having a larger pool means nothing if all the best people aren't even playing.

@JerryTurin @FailedRift More than twice as many kids in America play soccer than Argentina. So your talent pool is already twice as big. Yet, you're no where near as good.

@karkwonk @FailedRift What?! NBA PG's absolutely translate. But the bigger translation is from football... Corners, running backs, wide receivers...

@FailedRift Yeah, and there is actually almost no overlap between people who could become nba players and people who could become elite soccer players

@BaineSpeaks @JoshisButler90 you don’t just magically have the skill. It’s not as easy as practise every day and you’ll make it. Knowledge and IQ is arguably more important than physicality and athleticism. Will he be in the right place at the right time? Will he see/make the right final pass? etc

@Johnrhymer5 @carebearkieran 😂 I never said he was better whatsoever. You simply fail to understand the topic. Tyreek Hill WOULD have been able to be elite at soccer had it been the primary sport in the US like american football. Dude can't even read and thinks I'm the one getting schooled...

@ChainLinkHawk @carebearkieran Its that you are walking back your original point because you are getting schooled. The original comment was about Tyreek being a better athlete. I challenged that and you wanted to put your 2 cents in. And now that you cant defend the original point you want to walk it back.

@thomasarchitect Larger prisons, fewer family farms, worse schools, large companies fleeing, dirtier water, attacking diversity, lack of job opportunity, cancer rates, etc…. All brought on by your party. I think Iowas had enough of your politics

Iowa is losing our young people at one of the highest rates in America --- 4th worst in the nation for kids leaving the state. Zach Lahn gets it: “You cannot build a state or a culture if your kids are leaving faster than 46 other states.” Without young families staying, our rural communities, churches, schools, and family farms weaken.

@ChainLinkHawk @LFCAmericanReds Americans are only interested in sports that can get them scholarships. English kids play football as a hobby. Train after work & play matches on weekends. Football is as much a social sport as anything else. Even if you’re not that good, you can still play in a team.

The whole “if the USA’s best athletes played soccer, we’d be the best in the world” take is perhaps the biggest example of missing the point I’ve ever seen in the sports world.

@Johnrhymer5 @carebearkieran Where in the world did I say NFL players are better? The point is that the US sports culture & resources are on another level, especially when you consider their population size. If you take all of the mass obsession with football & moved it to soccer? Of course they'd be elite.

@ChainLinkHawk @carebearkieran Because idiots like you want to make it seem like nfl players are better because you have microscopic view of the world. You do realize that if you want kids to professional athletes soccer is the way to go. Follow the money there 100,000 athletes making 50k

@ChainLinkHawk @LymTime11 @LFCAmericanReds Because kids have to want to play. In US, kids pick sports to get them through college. In countries like the UK, kids play football all the time because they enjoy the game. Even if they don’t go professional, they still play amateur leagues every week.

@ChainLinkHawk @LFCAmericanReds Soccer is the largest youth sport in academies not on the streets. The talent needs to be raw not manufactured. I think if it reaches the status of basketball or American Football as a street sport then the U.S will go places.

@ChainLinkHawk @mekit_happen @LFCAmericanReds Is it a coincidence the rest of the World live and breathe football 365 days a year though? They are all wrong right? I never said You were wrong, You're American Football centric in everything really, the only statement I made is Hands are easier than feet. Thats the technique

@ChainLinkHawk @LFCAmericanReds It’s nothing to do with it. You’re insinuating that if US were more interested in what you call soccer, you would be top of the world - well that’s just not true. Not even close.

@ChainLinkHawk @LymTime11 @LFCAmericanReds That even if Americans decided to put as much into “soccer” as in American football, US still wouldn’t be the best team or have the best players.

@ChainLinkHawk @LFCAmericanReds You seem to think our best athletes would’ve beasts at football because they’re big and tower but there’s a reason why the greatest players of all time are shorter than 6 feet. Low center of gravity and technical ability with your feet is not a good mix with big frames

@knappaste @LFCAmericanReds Because we have a huge population and play it as a secondary sport. But our best athletes do not come close to prioritizing it. We play as young kids... then switch to American football, basketball, and baseball. My middle school and high school didn't even have soccer.

@ChainLinkHawk @LFCAmericanReds The US is 2nd in the world with registered male football players. It’s got a huge base compared to other nations but still doesn’t produce that many elite players.

@K_simple_k @mekit_happen @LFCAmericanReds But you are not the one that is qualified to make the distinction, we are! We literally grow up playing both... and are the only ones who do... and we choose American football. That is not a coincidence.

@ChainLinkHawk @mekit_happen @LFCAmericanReds You see, thats part of the issue there. Your fun isn't someone elses fun. You do realise using your hands rather than feet is 10x more simple right? The simple games are the ones with hands by the way, we evolved to have thumbs
