Google removing call buttons
Google hiding links to websites
It's almost like Google isn't a search engine anymore
Joy Hawkins@JoyanneHawkins
Did you know Google’s "Businesses" label on a Map Pack means your call button has a 99% chance of disappearing? 🤯 This report from @SmallBizEdge is the best data I’ve seen on this yet. Have you checked your niche's label lately? 🔗 smallbizedge.com/reports/map-pa…

@CyrusShepard No, it happened before. Nothing to worry about.

New data suggests small publishers (10k daily pageviews or less) are hit hardest by search traffic declines
—Chatbots only drive 1% of all traffic referrals, so they can't make up the gap
—News sites get most page views from AI platforms, but the lowest engagement

@CyrusShepard I can get good, not great, results from NB2. If this is the worst it will be, I have faith :) If you use the Gemini app to make them, you are getting the nerfed model. Use AI Studio, grounding, HIGH thinking, and it's markedly better.
Is #15 the kidney? Who knows lol

Thanks @CyrusShepard! Here’s the prompt if you’re curious. The attention to detail is pretty wild.. for example, the glow of the engine bay.
1966 Ford GT40 Mk II - 24 Hours of Le Mans - Circuit de la Sarthe
Nano Banana 2 🍌
Prompt: gritty, realistic photo-realistic photograph captures a Gulf-livery Ford GT-40 Mark II (Chassis #1046, light blue and orange) racing through the darkness at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. The time is dusk, with deep blue twilight painting the sky, and trackside stadium lights just beginning to cut through the heavy, wet air. The GT-40 is captured in motion, turning through the Tertre Rouge corner, heading towards the Mulsanne Straight. Water sprays from the worn, rain-slicked asphalt, kicked up by the rear wheels as it downshifts, its twin-turbo V8 engine bay glowing faintly orange from the heat. The car shows visible race wear: dirt, brake dust streaks, and rubber marks from the endurance battle, with headlights piercing the humid atmosphere. Panning shot technique renders the surrounding crowd and distant Dunlop Bridge into a smear of dynamic motion. Shot on Kodak Portra 400 film with strong grain, handheld 35mm camera, lens flare from headlights, high dynamic range, raw and cinematic aesthetic. Captured by Bernard Cahier. Film grain texture. Shallow depth of field focusing sharply on the GT-40.

@CyrusShepard Most infographics are crap, so they didn’t have much training data to work with 🤷♂️
English

@WesleyRoss Agreed. I think in a year or two they'll be mostly great

@CyrusShepard Infographics may be aren't good, but I see a lot of people gaining tractions with AI generated slideshows for LinkedIn and TikTok and it seems to be working. Matter of time.

@CyrusShepard They're not good yet. Neither were stock photos in 1995. The tools catching up is a matter of when, not if.

Study of 15K URLs shows that articles receiving Major Rewrites (30-100% of content) vastly outperform minor/moderate updates Even minor content updates helped, but content with no update performed the worst (1/2)
