@covie_93 No, but everyone in MAGA just believes what they are told, so why bother with fact checking?

The stupidity of people who read password hashing for 2 min in a CS101 class and never cared to follow through with any better understanding of cryptography. 🤦‍♂️ This is so easily explained by the fact that HSBC was just doing hash(uppercase(pass)) before and will do just hash(pass) now
vx-underground@vxunderground

1. This isn't fake. 2. Credentials are stored as hashes. It should be literally, with no exaggeration, impossible for a vendor to know your credentials while uppercase UNLESS they weren't storing passwords as hashes. What the fuck is HSBC India doing?

@trinick @davepl1968 We weren't allowed to. After the first plane hit, we put the feed up on the big screens at work from CNN. Manager forcibly turned it off as it was "disrupting work" then watched it with the other managers in an office... because of course they did.

@davepl1968 You’re not wholly wrong but I think it’s similar to people saying “I remember watching the second plane hit the towers”. It might not be technically correct but you still had that experience of seeing it along with whoever was in the room with you.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.
Jeremy London@SirJeremyLondon

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

@davepl1968 IIRC shuttle launches weren't being routinely broadcast by then; its not like they would know it would explode. Given there was a US schoolteacher on this one though, US schools were receiving a special feed. In retrospect, not a great choice.

After Trump dies, his memory has faded and life moves on, do you think MAGA rubes will look back and wonder why they donated the money, wore the hats and ear maxipads, bought the fake gold watches, drove around the country to rallies, wrapped their trucks with his image, and generally drank the Koolaid? Once the magic is gone, will they wake from the stupor and realize how stupid they looked? How much precious time and money they wasted? How the grift only worked because of their gullibility? Will they ever see how stupid it all was?

@Angry_Staffer I assumed a) He was going to leverage the upcoming midterms to get congress to vote for war b) He would pass a bill to suspend elections during times of war c) The midterms wouldn't happen and all existing congressmen would get to keep their seats indefinitely.
