Tigray urgently requires the attention of the int’l community. Responsibility entails obligation, not merely assigning blame. Global engagement is essential to safeguard Tigray’s survival. @UN, who bears the duty to guarantee that early warnings prompt timely action? @Refugees
jerusleam@jerry_kidus

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE? Who ensures food reaches IDPs? Who ensures medical care? Who acts on early warnings? Responsibility means obligation—not just blame. #Tigray #Ethiopia #IDPs #Accountability @Reuters @AFP @BBCWorld @UN @WFP @UN_Women

Tigray’s survival is at stake. Urgent help is needed: food, medicine, shelter, schools reopened, protection for civilians, justice for victims, & rebuilding infrastructure. Survival is possible but only if the world acts now & all stand together. @USEmbassyAddis @GerEmbAddis
jerusleam@jerry_kidus

WHAT FAILED? Aid is shrinking. Conditions are worsening. Why? • Access issues? • Funding gaps? • Coordination failures? • Political barriers? #Tigray #Ethiopia #IDPs #Accountability @Reuters @AFP @BBCWorld @UN @WFP @hrw

Tigray, a land that has paid with countless lives & bloodshed, now faces death again. It has lost caregivers, struggles 2survive, & painful 2sees her ppl turned against each other. +120K raped, +600K dead yet Tigray’s fight for life is far from over. The world cannot stay silent.
jerusleam@jerry_kidus

This is preventable. When people die of hunger in camps, something has broken in the system. The question is where—and why. #Tigray #Ethiopia #IDPs #Accountability @Reuters @AFP @BBCWorld @UN @WFP @hrw

A society becomes #orphaned not for lack of voices, but bcus those with influence remain silent. We talk about Politics, while the real crisis is ignored a generation losing education & hope. True leadership is not in speeches, but in protecting & voicing the future of the people
BREX7@BerhanuAsres

Who We Are #UnitedTigray The Voice for an Independent Tigray (VIT) is a global, values-driven movement born from the enduring spirit of a people who have faced genocide, injustice, and abandonment—yet remain steadfast in their fight for self-determination. VIT brings together Tigrayans and allies from across the diaspora into a unified, unwavering force grounded in truth, resilience, and an unshakable commitment to freedom. We are more than an organization—we are the voice of the silenced, a platform for the oppressed, and a beacon of hope for generations of Tigrayans. As advocates, organizers, educators, and global citizens, we are united by a common purpose: to build a peaceful, independent Tigray where dignity is not a privilege, but a birthright. Our Mission At the heart of VIT lies a bold and urgent mission: to achieve Tigray’s independence by empowering its people to rise, organize, and lead. Through unified participation, and grassroots mobilization, we seek to transform the collective will of Tigrayans into lasting political change. We are guided by the principles of human rights, justice, and sustainable development—not just as ideals, but as non-negotiable standards for the future we are building. Our mission is not only to challenge the systems that have oppressed us, but to lay the foundation for a Tigray where every citizen has agency, where peace is more than the absence of war, and where the future is forged by the people themselves. Our Vision We envision a free and sovereign Tigray—recognized across the world not only as an independent state, but as a principled, peaceful contributor to the global community. In this vision, Tigray stands tall as a nation rooted in justice, governed by the rule of law, and shaped by the aspirations of its people. We see a vibrant and unified Tigrayan community—within the homeland and across the globe—joined in purpose, bound by history, and committed to building a just future for all. Through dynamic educational efforts and powerful storytelling, VIT will shine a light on Tigray’s truth: the pain endured, the courage shown, and the dream that will not die. We will challenge and dismantle the webs of misinformation that seek to erase our struggle, ensuring that the world hears our voice unfiltered and unbroken. Ultimately, our vision is not limited to the achievement of independence—it is about securing a legacy. A legacy of freedom, dignity, and democratic strength that will define Tigray for generations. VIT is here not just to imagine that future, but to bring it into being—step by step, voice by voice, truth by truth. @BerhanuAsres

Why do we speak loudly about politics & power, yet stay silent while budgets are blocked, land is taken, IDPs die in camps, patients lack medicine, & victims wait for justice? The question is not whether God is sold for 30 dinars, but whether all are willing to sell Tigray too.

There is no precedent in modern history of reports + 120K cases of conflict-related sexual violence concentrated in Tigray a single region rather than across an entire country. Justice cannot be partial or political survivors deserve accountability, recognition, & healing. @UN
Mengsteab Abraha Berihe@Mengsteab444

Why is the F*CK is Ethiopia not sanctioned by every single country in the world for the highest degree of atrocities committed against the People of Tigray and humanity.

@EU_UNGeneva, Violations of IHL must be addressed everywhere without selective outrage. In #Tigray, +120K women’s were subjected to sexual violence, their bodies turned into a battlefield of war. Justice cannot be partial or political. Survivors deserve accountability. @UN_Women
EU at the UN - Geneva #MultilateralismMatters@EU_UNGeneva

Violations of IHL and human rights in the 🇨🇫 persist. Civilians, particularly women & children, are victims of abuse committed by armed groups & mercenaries. We welcome the efforts of authorities to restore sovereignty & authority - these must be pursued with determination #HRC61

Dear @EduCannotWait @UNICEFEducation @GEMReport @UNESCO Withholding teachers' salaries is killing a generation—protesting teachers and students A peaceful demonstration is being held in the city of Mekelle against the federal government's salary ban. Teachers and students from all public and private schools attended the event at Balloon Stadium. The rally demanded that the ban on teachers' salaries be stopped, teachers' rights be respected, teachers should not teach while hungry, displaced people should return to their homes; Students are chanting slogans calling for them to return to school. The Tigray Education Bureau, Teachers Association and Parents of Students are jointly holding demonstrations in several parts of Tigray calling for respect for the rights of teachers and children. @BerhanuAsres #TigrayCrisis

News: #The_Reporter’s Journalist detained in #Western_Tigray for entering without permit, taking photos #Bewket_Abebe, the Chief Editor of The Reporter (#Ethiopia), was detained for three days in Western #Tigray after local authorities said he entered the zone “without a required special permit” and took photographs in public spaces in #Humera town, the magazine announced yesterday. According to The Reporter Magazine, Bewket was arrested on 21 March, 2026, in Humera Town while on assignment to conduct interviews and report from the region. Officials reportedly warned journalists that a specialized permit is required not only to carry out professional work but also to the area. Prior to his detention, Bewket had been in communication with local administrators about his travel plans and had scheduled a potential interview with #Ashete_Demilew, the administrator of what has been referred to as the “Wolqait Tegede Setit Humera Zone”, an administration installed by the #Amhara regional government, since the early days of the Tigray war that broke out in November 2020. Despite notifying authorities of his itinerary and reporting objectives, he was held in custody for three nights without formal charges being brought against him. Over 4.6 million people in Tigray face catastrophic levels of starvation, according to the world’s leading body on food emergencies. Doctors say children have been dying of malnutrition. Ethiopia has been accused of restricting aid and downplaying the famine.

3/3 To all the ppl of Tigray as a people: We unite, we survive; divided, we may not endure as a people. With people on the brink of survival, our unity will decide whether we endure or vanish. We fail as a people when we cannot unite, think long-term, & hold leaders accountable

The saddest thing is seeing Tigray’s elites, scholars, & politicians divided against each other. Differences should not divide us Tigray’s strength lies in standing together. Survival and progress depend on shared vision, cooperation, & collective responsibility. 1/3

Dear @UNHumanRights @UN @UNHCRUK @ECHO_CESAfrica @ICRC_Africa @ICRC_uk @WFP_Africa @WFP @RedCross @UNOCHA @WHO @UNHCRUSA #Sudan’s Blue Nile displacement reaches 73,000 after #Kurmuk attack Activists said on Thursday that approximately 73,000 people have fled Al-Kurmuk in Sudan’s Blue Nile region following attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (#RSF). The RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (#SPLM-N) led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu seized the border town on March 24. The offensive has sparked accusations that Ethiopia facilitated the attack from its territory. The Blue Nile Humanitarian Emergency Room stated that according to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 73,406 displaced people have arrived in Ed Damazin and surrounding areas. Most of those fleeing the violence are women and children. The group described the humanitarian situation as extremely harsh, reflecting a deep tragedy for the local population. Displaced families are reportedly facing a fragile reality characterized by acute shortages of food and clean drinking water. Overcrowding in temporary shelters and a lack of adequate housing have further complicated the crisis. The Emergency Room emphasized that the current situation has exceeded the capacity of local response teams. It called for an urgent and coordinated intervention from all humanitarian partners. The statement urged international and regional organizations to provide immediate emergency food aid and support water and sanitation services. It also highlighted the need for tents, blankets, and medical supplies. @BerhanuAsres sudantribune.com/article/312121
