@PjctAggressorsG I have this same problem! My last two games both had them and I would always spell it wrong. Even in the source code of my second last game it was the wrong way around. The only cure was having people on my game’s Discord server mocking me every time I misspelled it.

Also after making this post I realized I've been misspelling CIWS my entirely life but I'm going to keep it CWIS because it sounds like cheese-wiz I think that's funny.

Working on anti-ship missiles and further on ship combat. It's a bit rough around the edges but I really like the feel of it so far. #indiedev #unity3d

@zeeg i would say the best metric is: * idea -> design -> in product -> conclusion of AB test (or however you determine success). * adversarial metric - outage / downtime / non show stopping bugs in production / performance (p99+) everything else is noise, in my not humble opinion

Lines of code has always been an irrelevant metric and LLMs have not changed that. Even the much celebrated lines deleted is garbage - as if removing things is always net win on the outcomes of a project. What you should be doing: track your commit frequency. It should be every single day you work, realistically multiple times a day. Then track total contributions. Figure out how you get more contributions per day. That is the metric. More isolated contributions that are of high quality, stable, moving towards the overarching goal. AI makes it easier to build mvps, internal apps, to unblock smaller tasks. Those are areas where you can see contributions go up. It also makes it easy to do what Garry is doing: generating large volumes of useless code. Lines of code at this scale is just slop generation. It is not real software, it is not how anyone who cares about the outcome of their work operates. It has real world consequence. If you think this is reflective of what you should be striving for you should disconnect from the internet and focus on your work.

I’m trying to teach software engineers that their sacred cow of “LOC is bad” is probably wrong in agentic engineering You won’t believe that in another 5 years

@cursor_ai does upgrading from Pro to Pro+ give 3x more Auto+Composer AND API usage or only 3x more API usage?

@AnthropicDualiT @EA Yes, I really liked it. Was such a departure for Westwood from their usual games but it played really well. I moved to Eve Online shortly after though.

@mntruell @mckaywrigley Cursor is hands down the best (2-10x) experience I've had with any ai tool so far and I think it's precisely because its NOT a dashboard for working with agents. I think real developers want an improved IDE not a "dashboard"

@mckaywrigley We think of Cursor as a desktop app, not an IDE. Agree the ideal Cursor becomes a dashboard for working with agents.

Cursor seeks to be the best and most powerful way to code with AI. What are the ways in which we could be better?

It’s definitely important if you want to reach the largest market but I find it’s better to come back later and profile to see the slow spots. It’s hard to guess as you are going what the slow downs will be. I spend about 5% of my dev time optimising app size, garbage generated and frame rate. I have a lot of players on super old hardware and I want to make sure they can always play the game.

oof ... I think I worry *too much* about optimization, but not worrying much at all? I want my game to play really smoothly on older hardware!

@SofaMods I’ve had great success with buying on cgtrader. It takes most of the risk out and their licensing options are great. Otherwise happy to just PayPal or similar for it, let me know.

Would anyone be in the market for a pack of assorted environment assets like these? They all need a bit of cleanup and some textures redone but I got a whole bunch of props and buildings lying around and I'm wondering if I could package them up and sell them in packs.
