It’s completely normal to have a rep drop off from set one to two, if you’re pushing yourself sufficiently hard I’ll take it one step further. If you do 3 sets of 10 reps, I can ALL BUT GUARANTEE you didn’t take set one to true task failure

@CheckmateSoon @iboprof @DeanTTraining Yea could be you’re just pushing too much weight. Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should especially if there’s pain. Mobility work sucks but it’s imperative. Try split squats. All I know is my knee pain is basically down to weak surrounding muscles that I didn’t train

@EmmitDocBrown @iboprof @DeanTTraining I’m only 5’9 so not tall. I may have weak quad and glutes but my ankle flexibility is very good already. Would you suggest working on isolating my quads, glutes, and external rotation first before focusing on leg press?

@DeanTTraining Well most aren’t using machine where they have the safety of pushing that hard. I’m a 1 RIR guy cause I’m alone in my basement. Rarely I go to absolute final final rep. It does bother me but I’m doing what I can. Need to get rubber hex DB from 90–? So I can drop them.

@DeanTTraining When I think about it lots of people I know who want to gain mass dont push to failure. I’m 6months back after 10years break 😳 trying to get the mass back, its coming and fat going! If im not shouting the last reps out or wincing on the negative toward set end, something wrong.
