@NO_TO_GLOBALISM @CNN Because that national monument exists SOLELY to represent the struggles of queer people in the United States. So of course there would be a pride flag.

@NYCMayor 17 days after the Oct 7 Massacre, while Israel was still sifting through ashes to identify the 1200+ Jews who were raped, kidnapped & murdered, Zohran Mamdani led a pro-Hamas rally calling for the destruction of Israel.

On Yom HaShoah, we pause to remember the six million Jewish victims of the Nazis' systematic program of mass murder, along with the millions of others murdered by the Hitler regime. We remember the scale of this horror, and the systems of hatred and dehumanization that made it possible — and that still echo in our world today. In New York City, home to more Holocaust survivors than anywhere else in this country, that memory lives among us and shapes who we are. The resilience of survivors is woven into the very fabric of this city, and it calls on all of us to act with courage and clarity in the face of injustice. Today, as antisemitism rises once more, we are reminded that remembrance alone is not enough. We must confront hate wherever it appears. As we light the yahrzeit candle, let us come together to protect its fragile flame — and shield it from the cold winds of hate and cruelty. "Never again" is a promise. And it is one we must fight to keep.

@NYCMayor When are we going to stop calling out individuals based on their ethnicity and just address them as New Yorkers? Can’t we say, those celebrating a specific festival, wishing you so and so. It’s a silent segregation that misleaders pursue while voters remain blind and deaf to.

To all Sikh New Yorkers: Happy Khalsa Sajna Diwas and Vaisakhi! This joyous holiday commemorates the founding of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh ji, a defining moment that established the Sikh identity and its call to serve humanity selflessly, protect the religious rights of all, and stand against political oppression, tyranny, & discrimination. May we all carry forward the spirit of Vaisakhi as we work together to build a city rooted in freedom and belonging for all.

Today, New York City mourns the passing of Eliot Engel, a son of the Bronx who dedicated decades of his life to public service. From his early days as a teacher and guidance counselor to his 16 terms in Congress, Rep. Engel fought for single-payer health care, defended the environment, and cared for both the communities he served and the future of this city. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. May his memory be a blessing.

@rafikazer998322 @ZMcgeever19302 @LazerusArise @NASA Sure. It's because they use very specific exposure settings to take "close up" pictures of celestial bodies. This preventz the camera from being blown out by the sun's reflection so you can actually see the details of the Moon. The same settings mean that the Stars won't show up.

Fair enough. I didn’t pause to look at the source text translation and you are correct. What’s your point? You disapprove of God casting judgment on Babylon? That they are so evil that even their offspring must be killed to end them permanently. I assume that’s where you are struggling or trying to get a “gotcha” that God would slaughter babies of the wicked cannot be good and loving and you disapprove. You are welcome to feel that way. God is absolutely aware of how you feel that you know better and would never do anything that evil and disgusting. This judgment wasn’t without warning. They refused to change and ignored God’s warning. They had been given opportunity after opportunity to repent. This wasn’t God just randomly slaughtering for pleasure. Warning after warning after warning was given to these and all people. Tell me how you would have dealt with these people if you were sitting in God’s position. What do you do with a people that had been given multiple opportunities to change. Had been warned. Yet, continued to act directly against you and those people you specifically said to leave alone.

Happy Easter, New York! Today, millions of New Yorkers celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the victory of hope over despair and faith over fear.  As the air warms and cherry blossoms begin to bloom, this holy day is a sacred time to pause and reflect on a season of rebirth. Whether you spend this day singing in pews, parading on Fifth Avenue, joining a processional guided by the bamboo trumpets of Haitian Rara music, or hunting for painted eggs amidst the spring grass, I wish every New Yorker celebrating a joyous day. Let us all embrace this holiday's spirit of hope and renewal as we build the City — and the world — that we deserve.

@ShoelessTX @sdk1k @Traylor_Ranger @NYCMayor This is specifically the King James version. Most other versions closer to the original text use the term infants. It is very obviously referring to actual children. If you can't understand that then it's pure cope and you shouldn't get an opinion on other people's religion.

Yes - that is absolutely my God. That is a prophetic passage foretelling what is to come using figurative and literal language. You need to read this with the lens of the proper genre. This is judgement against all who denied God. Who chose their own way and their own path rather than accepting the gift of salvation and forgiveness. The language is the children and wives. That doesn’t mean literal children under 13 yrs old. It generations who chose to deny God is who He is. The wives reference is speaking of the responsibility of the mothers who birthed these generations of rebellious generations. Isaiah is a prophetic book. You have to consider the form of writing when reading anything, especially the Bible. The day of Judgement will be a horrible and gruesome day by any standards. Every person was given a choice in their lifetime to choose God or to deny God. Judgement day assures that all who chose God will receive eternal life with Him and all who chose to deny God will not have to spend eternity with Him. They will exist eternally in a place where they will never have to spend a moment in His presence. They will get their choice fulfilled fully. To provide you with a small forethought of what that will be like. For those that deny God, this life is as close as you will ever get to heaven. God is present here and keeping our lives from being complete hell where He is not present at all. For the follower of God, this life is as close to hell as we will ever get because there is evil present here. It is restrained by God, but there is no evil in God’s presence in eternity. Because you brought this passage up specifically, in your mind you cannot imagine a “loving God” who would allow, much less do such things. That’s where you are trying to define God by your standards and not by His. If you are truly honest with yourself, you judge very much like God everyday. That because you were made in His image. If someone says they want to have nothing to do with you, you are hurt by that. You likely would pursue the person further to explain that you have open arms and want to offer forgiveness for whatever happened. But ultimately it is their choice and they have chosen to never want to be in your presence. That is very much what God does. He pursues everyone with forgiveness, but you ultimately have a choice and if you desire never to have anything to do with Him, He will respect that and grant it for you. The major difference is that when it is you and another person is being outside of your presence doesn’t mean eternity and absent of you is still the goodness of God. Outside the presence of God, there is nothing good. Nothing kind, no hope, no joy, nothing but suffering. That is what is to come for people who choose to deny agod in this life. They will spend an eternity away from God. It won’t be the hell of parties and pleasure. There will be zero relief because there is zero good there. In fact there will be a vacuum of good, meaning the desire for even an ounce of relief will always be present. This isn’t God’s place and he sends no one there. This is a place where He has given to those that want nothing to do with Him and He honors their desire.

Ever wonder how to get rid of a mattress? Or how to find resources for a neighbor in need? Call 311. 311 is contacted 100,000 times every day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Everything from potholes to trash schedules; they're available to answer your non-emergency calls any hour of the day. No call is too small for @nyc311. So on the anniversary of 311 (3/11), I decided to answer some of those calls myself.
