@Ahavamalla Bro don't play victim card. It was you all. If a Telugu saying this, I would have accepted but kannadigas are out of box.

@sanjaybujjanga @LordKarnandus @KNayakas @LEGENDASHUGAMI4 @nachekethan Their earliest inscription is from Madhya Pradesh. Now, are you going to tell me that MP was Kannada speaking in ancient times??

Kannada Brahmi : It's Kannada words written using Brahmi scripts , The Below script is from 1st Century BC this is 500 yrs before Halmadi .The Sittanavasal inscription (c. 1st century BCE-AD) is considered to be Tamil-Brahmi script and Old Tamil, but scholars like Iravatham Mahadevan and S. Settar note Kannada-origin words (e.g., posil, kavudi, erumi, nadu, ilayar) due to Jain influences. Thus it's actually Old Kannada thus Kannada-Brahmi ! This was commissioned by Jain monks , It clearly reflects early Kannada and also shows Jainism's strong foothold in the Tamil country. Kannada flourished in the Tamil country through Jains. Jainism is the only oldest religion with continuous references in South India! Yet the main stream kannada historians influenced by Hinduism don't accept this as this will glorify that Jain religion ! By not claiming, today, Kannada is not portrayed as a living, ancient language in the world. It's the responsibility of Every kannadiga to work towards it. #RealHistory #BitterTruth

The Pallava-script (pre-cursor of all Tamil scripts) seems like a cut and paste of Kadamba-Kannada script. Pallava script trails Kadamba script by about 300-400 years (source omniglot). Not-barring the mythical concoction called "Tamil-Brahmi", seems like written Kannada matured before Tamil about 500 years prior. @yajnadevam

The Gunabhushita Nishidi inscription (c. 400 CE) represents transitional Kannada-Brahmi script. The Gunabhushita Nishidi inscription (c. 400 CE) from Shravanabelagola predates the Halmidi inscription (c. 450–500 CE), which is conventionally celebrated as the "oldest Kannada inscription." This nishadi shasana reads ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ-ಶ್ರೀ ಗುಣಭೂಷಿತಮಾದಿ ಉಳಾಡಗ್ಗೇರಿಸಿದಾ ನಿಸಿದಿಗೆ ಸದ್ಧಮ್ಮ ಗುರು ಸಂತಾನಾನ್ ಸಂದ್ದಿಗಗಣತಾನಯಾನ್ ಗಿರಿತಲದಾ ಮೇಲತಿ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಮಾನದಾನ್ ತೀರದಾಣಮಾ ಕೇಳಿಯಾ ನೆಲದಿ ಮಾನದಾನ್ ಸದ್ಧಮ್ಮದಾಗೇಟಿ ಸಸಾನದಿಪತಾನ್ The mention of "ಗುರು ಸಂತಾನ" (guru lineage) points to the Mula Sangha–Kondakundanvaya tradition.
