@SouthwestAir what are you guys doing with your seating? When I booked I had maybe 5 seats to choose from that didnt require an additional fee. Everyone is packed into rows 10-20 and the rest of the plane is empty.

@SouthwestAir 2 flights in a row now actually. Empty rows up front, empty rows in back, everyone packed into the middle of the plane. Wouldnt happen if all available seats were shown when booking. Horrible customer experience. Im done with Southwest for the foreseeable future.

With the updated seating process, you may see large groups of seats blocked or unavailable during booking, which can make it look like everyone is packed into the same section while the rest of the aircraft is empty. At this time, we’re unable to move passengers once seats have been assigned, even if other areas of the plane appear open. Some seats may still be held for operational needs, or other internal processes, which is why they may not show as selectable during booking or check-in.
