@l_fm @blogTO Most countries do require tourists to carry passports … Canada would largely be the exception where it’s not required.

@Urban_Toronto Widely seen the frontrunner by whom? I always believe Montreal was the front runner. Toronto has been quiet in their bid versus Montréal.

It’s been confirmed that Canada will host the new Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB) — an international institution focused on financing defence and strategic infrastructure. While no city has been finalized, Toronto is widely seen as the frontrunner. This would require significant new office space, prompting speculation that dormant plans for The Hub — a proposed commercial supertall skyscraper at the foot of Bay Street, which has already pre-leased some of its space — could be constructed to house this new institution. urbantoronto.ca/database/proje…

@GlobalJesus @mackaytaggart It’s usually event location that determines these rules in other places where they exist. Enforcement usually comes down to companies in Canada/US/EU will abide by one’s located other places you can’t really enforce the rules on them.

This email was just sent to certain Ticketmaster account holders in Ontario, as Bill 97 (which includes amendments to the Ticket Sales Act of 2017) becomes law. Ticket holders are now prevented from reselling concert/event tickets for more than face value. #ONpoli

@sfergs_ I never thought that was a thing people could just do...but I can't see why not. So when they cross into Canada, they just straight up tell the border guards "yeah, I'm going to Pearson to catch a flight" in a foreign country using my American passport to go to another country??

Disgusting to see someone who will enjoy the Goldsmith fortunes himself actively trying to destroy the lives of millions of poor Pakistanis who have nothing to do with anything he has mentioned.

@mahithougks @KiranKS Daylight saving time and multiple times zones are different issue. DST is definitely more of a headache these days then a benefit but having multiple times zones makes sense especially in larger countries like India.

This is what you get from a retarded female. She’ll object to the hukm; wear it not because it’s the hukm, but for personal reasons. Need to change that name from Zaynab to Zoey. Silly whore talking “against niqab” as if her personal views govern jurisprudence.

@msSharanKaur The OLP hasn’t even announced a date for their leadership election yet and Ford has 6 months to have a byelection. This is a bad take. At least wait until the byelection is called or the leadership race gets underway before demanding he resigns.

My disappointing experience at Hafaz Mustafa in London. 🇹🇷🇬🇧 Today, while in Knightsbridge, London, I planned to visit the iconic Turkish baklava store Hafız Mustafa. My intention was to review the shop and pray in the dedicated prayer space reportedly available at the new London branch. As a Muslim, I was genuinely pleased to hear that such a space existed, particularly in central London where suitable prayer facilities are difficult to find. Turkish prayer spaces, in particular, are often thoughtfully designed and stunning - if more UK Muslims know about this, it would surely encourage even more business of a brand I already have much love for. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, I was informed at the door that access to the prayer space is restricted exclusively to customers who make a purchase in the store only. An Islamic prayer space, by its very nature, should be open to all believers and not contingent on commercial transactions. To condition access to worship Allah swt on spending money is troubling and fundamentally at odds with the values such a space is meant to represent and the values I know the great Islamic nation of Turkiye holds dear as well. Having visited the Istanbul branch in 2020, where the atmosphere was warm, inclusive, and genuinely hospitable, the contrast could not have been more stark. In my view, the London branch has profoundly misunderstood the purpose and responsibility that comes with offering a prayer facility. As a result of this encounter, I left feeling uncomfortable and unwilling to make a review. This was the first time since converting to Islam as a 16 year old that I have EVER been turned away from a prayer space, and it left a lasting sense of sadness and disappointment. @hafizmustafa_tr

@Idlibie @MoeyNotBlake Inflation doesn’t reverse ever really… it might stabilize here but I doubt it will go backwards… the only logic would be if they are setting an artificial rate similar to when releasing a new currency. With old bank notes not being equal to new ones.

It is worth noting that The 500 Syrian pound banknote is currently worth approximately 4.5 dollars, meaning that (granted inflation doesn’t persist) Syrians will no longer need to carry fat stacks of cash in bags anymore, and can actually use the pockets of their trousers again.

#Syria: the new currency has been officially unveiled tonight. The new design marks a total break from Assad's era, with human figures and historical monuments removed. Two zeros were also dropped from the currency in an effort to strengthen public trust.
