"I have no intention of watching it!" - @GMHikaru Nakamura on the @netflix documentary "Untold: Chess Mates" about @HansMokeNiemann. Interview: @ram_abhyudaya/ ChessBase India

I’ve realized something, Ironically, the problem with so many in the West is how profoundly unfaithful they’ve become—how their faith itself has been perverted They don’t stay faithful to original Anime Works, or really to any works, stories, or art that isn’t their own. They’re unfaithful to others’ vision—Harry Potter and so many others included. They aren’t faithful to their country, their neighbors, their friends, or their lovers… Hell, they have no faith in themselves There is a near-complete and utter lack of faithfulness. Divorce rates are through the roof. Pornography is everywhere and aggressively pushed even on young SFW sites—completely unfaithful to those platforms’ intended design and use case—to create addictive parasocial relationships for profit. Everyone rage-baits each other for clicks instead of leading from love, because there is no love left. They step over “friends,” lie to people, earn their trust, then bleed them dry The problem with the West is fundamentally the near-total eradication of faithfulness from our culture. An intentionally perverted ideology has replaced it—and many people’s faith now rests in that perversion, which is, unironically, a complete and utter faith in the disregard of faithfulness itself There’s a complete lack of faith in being good and true
