I VIVIDLY remember arguing with my CO about this policy once upon a time. We argued for hours in the back of a Stryker while in the field.
My main argument was why the fuck does the government trust me with a handgun while off post, and the federal government trusts me and issues me A FULLY AUTOMATIC GRENADE LAUNCHER….even as a teenager, But the federal government doesn’t trust me with a my own handgun while on post……Make it make sense.

I agree, but with how some dumb asses treat the whole don’t drink and drive thing, can some really be “allowed.” I’m all for goin forward with this but I think minimum service is required before allowing said soldier “CCW.” Gotta prove your integrity and your a honorable soldier and not gathering A15’s and 45&45’s all the time

This will work out well. It'll be like High Noon when an aggrieved soldier takes vengeance on the E-4 banging his wife or - as happened in our Target Acquisition Battery back in the day - a drug dealing soldier shot a debtor soldier through the head while he was asleep in his barracks' room. @SecWar I think this great! I have so many ideas. We need training for our younger soldiers and this means more trigger time that they really need. We should do our own CCW classes to carry on base also maybe an “amber” policy on post to be on the safe side (I Know) but helps.
