@FreddyAndGordon @RealPostFolder At the jewelry store. Even Costco you can buy rings for more than that if you are so inclined

English

@RealPostFolder 10,000$?! Where do you even find a ring for that much.

@Hangman_Dan @Adrianaveterin2 Drinking upside down is still hard. But once it enters the esophagus it works well.
English

@Adrianaveterin2 Same reason you can drink or eat while upside down. The body moves it toward the stomach regardless of gravity.

@learning_yohei Bowing shows that you are in a vulnerable place exposing a open neck to a sword. Western culture doesn't show this vulnerability as it is seen a weakness.

@learning_yohei Shaking hands is showing you hold no weapon and come on friendly terms. Shaking hands confirms this. Watch Mel brooks 2000 year old man to learn more.

@msfrankfurters @CoachDanGo If I cared I would look it up. But I think good estimate that you utilize about 40% of the calories you consume the rest is heat waste or just straight waste.
English

@msfrankfurters @CoachDanGo Work you do. Next is the tricky part figuring out how much force you use to move your leg forward. But if you really care you could measure it. Then factor in your metabolism which varies from person to person (the fitter you are the more efficient your metabolism)
English

Your treadmill and smartwatch are lying to you about how many calories you burn.
A Stanford study tested 7 popular fitness devices and found every single one overestimated calorie burn.
The most accurate was still off by 27%. The worst? 93% off.
They use generic formulas based on speed and weight not taking into account your fitness level, body composition, or how efficiently you move.
Most people don't know that the fitter and more skilled you are at the activity the less calories you burn. Machines don't know that.
The worst part isn't the bad data but what people do with it.
They eat back those exercise calories and justify eating more because their screen said they earned it.
Personally, I'd take the numbers your devices give you with a grain of salt while tracking your food intake and activity level.
Do the math on your own as it will be more accurate.

@learning_yohei We don't bow, so it is a more familiar way to show gratitude

@Paul_E_D @Math_files If they wanted to use estimation they should have given numbers that resulted in a correct answer of 73 which would have made 75 a good estimate. When the correct answer is the same as the estimate there is no distinction between the two methods.
English

@Math_files I get what you’re saying but the lesson that preceded this question probably was how (and why) to use estimates. “Yes” was most likely a correct answer but the kid wasn’t paying attention (probably doodling or squeezing they’re fidget toy) and they didn’t estimate

@Roman14541 @GigaBasedDad Is that fasting from water? Or fasting while drinking water?
English

@GigaBasedDad Drink the shitty flourine water, drink puddle water, and water fast

@H0H0v Boy is safe. A right triangle with sides 4 and 6 has hypotenuse = 10 (double the 3-4-5 triangle). The branch would have to be 10ft long to hit child, since it is only 8 ft long, boy is safe. (Although child protective services might disagree)
