Last night I went out to dinner with my wife and some friends. Some of whom happened to be black and some of whom happened to be gay - not that that should make any difference to anything in in Britain in 2026 - where everyone is so incredibly kind and everyone is so included and welcome. When we arrived at the restaurant I could tell immediately that the manager recognised me - and he wasn’t a fan. In these rare circumstances I tend to overcompensate and be extra polite and courteous to win people round, but nothing worked with this bloke. He was rude to the point of open hostility. Wanting to enjoy the evening - which we did enormously - I just tried to ignore him. As the meal finished and we were leaving, I asked for the gentleman’s name so I could write to the management of the restaurant with my thoughts about the service - or lack therof - He refused to give me his name and proceeded to tell me that he didn’t need to be polite to racists and a homophobes - even after I politely reminded him of the fact that i was sat at a table well stocked with homosexuals and black people. So instead I took a photo of him and said if he refused to give me his name then the photo would help identify him in my correspondence. The minute I did this his entire demeanour changed and he started to realise that there were going to be potential consequences for being so rude and unprofessional. He began to apologise profusely and - long story short - we ended up sat together at the bar with him telling me he was sorry for jumping to conclusions and that he had had a horrible day he had and before I left we gave each other a hug. He even texted when he finished his shift to apologise again. New friend made. So it’s all good! But it reminded me what irritates me about the media. This man had read the one sided dross that the dying media put out and despite the fact that I was sat having a laugh with a very “diverse” table of friends, he refused to let go of his own bigotry and prejudice, to the point where he was happy to potentially jeopardise his job over it. I get that we live in a world where the media likes to make monsters of certain people, and I don’t expect everyone to agree with what I say. I get recognised quite often and commentary goes with the territory, people express strong views - both positive and negative - about what I think, which is great. You may have noticed, i’m very pro free speech and people expressing different views! The more the merrier! I am still however a human being, with feelings and emotions, and I don’t think it’s too much to ask to be able to go out to a restaurant to eat with my wife and friends without a waiter trying to do everything he can to ruin our evening. We don’t often go out to restaurants we don’t know well for just this reason and after last night, it will be a while before I do again. So might you do yourselves a favour dying media? Try to be at least balanced when you write about people. You would have saved this poor chap and myself an unnecessary and unpleasant experience. You are already on your last legs. Perhaps you should ask yourselves why your audience is getting smaller and smaller with every passing day? Many thanks. Happy Sunday. 🙏

I popped into an exhibition that turned out to be the insane fever dream of an artist called Matthew Collins: ‘Drawings Against Genocide.’ The exhibition is described as ‘drawings… raising consciousness about hell…. Israel is the pure encapsulation of it. Zionism is this terror state’s ruling ideology.’ Shocked by the use of Nazi imagery - the room is full of the Star of David pasted around figures meant to be Israelis and the Jewish ‘lobby’ spewing blood, to say nothing of blonde yummy mummies wearing ‘globalise the intifada’ shirts, I spoke to the artist to share my reaction as a Jewish person. He was instantly aggressive. As soon as I started to say I was shocked and threatened by what I was seeing because it was Nazi imagery, the artist started yelling at me that I didn’t mean anything I was saying. Anytime I tried to speak (calmly) he said: ‘you don’t mean any of what you said, you’re just repeating ‘hasbarah talking points’ because ‘you’re defending a genocide’. On and on he yelled, in my face. I said: ‘if I was a Black person…’ but couldn’t finish the sentence because: ‘you’re not are you?’ On the Nazi ideology point he said: ‘yeah. Why do you think it’s there. Israel are the Nazis’. His breath was disgusting. The crowd began booing and closing in around me, making to shoe me out. I said: ‘fine, get the Jew out’ and he yelled more across the room at me, ‘repeatedly jeering ‘call the police, go ahead, call the police’. I said I would, and the community security trust, which features as a devil in his exhibition. This was met with even more jeering. ‘Yeah, call the CST’ was the last I heard before leaving. Someone snapped pictures of me while I was being shouted at. Short video shows the artist. The longer video, of our final almost surreally disgusting exchange, didn’t record.

This is the Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian. You only need to watch the first minute of his Iranian Nowruz (new year) speech yesterday to see his demeanour and body language. The hands flopping down on his thighs as if the life energy has been sucked out of him. With no authority afforded him as President after apologising to the Gulf states for Iran attacking them, he been trying to resign, but not allowed to. Now emanating hostage vibes as if the IRGC have told him “if we die, then you die too.” I watched the whole thing. Repetitive and mostly appealing to the Gulf states that they are their “Muslim brothers & sisters” and Iran “only wants peace and tranquility”. This as ballistic missiles from Iran were raining down on Qatar, Saudi and Kuwait and four Palestinian women near Hebron in the West Bank died after “missile fragments hit a hair salon after an Iranian missile attack on Wednesday night” as reported by Middle Eastern Eye. They go on to say: “Palestinian authorities could not confirm if the shrapnel that killed them came from an Iranian missile or from an Israeli interceptor used to shoot it down.” Interesting to note that the BBC report on the same story reads “Iran has repeatedly fired missiles with cluster-bomb warheads at Israel… munitions which release large numbers of bomblets mid-flight, scattering them over a wide area.” The politicisation of the deaths of innocent civilians continues. #IranIsraelUSAWar

I don’t celebrate anyone’s death. But many will in Iran as this person expedited a huge number of executions without lawyers present and manufactured evidence. This was Judge Mohammad Khosravani, also titled with being a prosecutor and investigator. Known widely for issuing the death sentence against one of Iran’s top wrestlers Navid Afkari (pictured first) in Sept 2020 when his execution sparked an international outcry. He was also sanctioned by the EU, with 6 other regime judges, for abducting dual and foreign nationals for years, convicting them in sham trials under false charges and imprisoning them under horrific conditions, to be used as bargaining chips for millions of dollars in ransom money. I tweeted about him in Dec 2022 (he looks younger in sunglasses without his beard) and his appalling multitasking courtroom performances where he carried out his different with costume changes.
