Byron Donalds has already sold out Florida to Big Tech Dems. The needs of Floridians are irrelevant to Byron. His only concerns are those of his donors. You’re a speed-bump in their way.

@myacatt51 @WSJ Funny because affirmative action is policy to increase representation and ensure equal opportunity for an allegedly discriminated group. Which is exactly what you are calling for.

Yep it can probably be cleaned more, and I think air conditioned stations is critical for the metro mover, in summer, when someone likely walked to the station and then will again from it, the station would offer respite. This would likely need to be paired with a rider fee to help cover build out and operations. Right now the mover blasts cold air and then the doors are open for 30+ seconds at a station and it all goes out.

We’ve received a lot of feedback on bike lanes in Downtown on NE 5th ST based on a story that ran on CBS. To be clear, we are not in favor of removing bike lanes. We are currently exploring how to make NE 5th ST safe for cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers while together moving traffic more safely and efficiently. Part of that effort involves redesigning the street and bike lanes to include elevating the lanes and/or changing the infrastructure. The urban core represents a cluster with the highest incidence of cyclist fatalities and serious injuries in Miami Dade. And Miami Dade ranks first among similarly sized cities in the State and in the nation. We understand how important mobility options and connectivity are in the urban core and throughout our City, and as a cyclist myself, I witness firsthand the need to improve safety, cycling lanes, street design and traffic. On Northeast 5th Street, which is a major corridor and key route to the Port of Miami and the Fire Station, illegal parking in the bike lane has become a life threatening issue. When cars block the lane, it creates hazards for cyclists and pedestrians, and it contributes to congestion and gridlock for everyone. On weekends, cruise passengers carry their luggage across Biscayne Blvd to the Port. Miami Police have issued just under 100 citations in the past three months alone. Enforcement is not enough. We need structural changes. Our goal is simple: safer streets, better traffic flow, and mobility solutions that work for the neighborhood today and in the future. #safetyfirst @LSewardWCPO @CBSMiami @downtownMIA @CityofMiami @OmniCRA

It's very touchy and nice to offer full ride scholarships to people in other countries, but there are many young Americans that are going into huge debt to attend college and some even give up all together because they can't afford it. Good deeds and propping up students should start at home. Those bright minds are probably going to do more good in their own countries. Taking away their brightest to never return is the kind of brain drain that keeps those nations falling behind. It's time to take care of those at home. Let the rest of the world figure it out on their own.

lol transit works all over the world in all types of climates. Who will use it are all the people looking for a simple commendation from their cruise terminal, to the 10th street station in Brickell to go to their reservation at citizen m, or the port employees who live in A&E district, or any of our other countless neighbors who prefer to live a car optional lifestyle, and the visitors who disembark and don’t have a car in Miami. This trope of fear mongering weather is a lame and inadequate response to the scale of the need for transit. August 2024, there was a County straw vote during the official elections, where nearly 80% of voters expressed support for mass transit. Miami dade has spoken. The traffic on the port is choking the roads all around Downtown, the Central business district. A solution is needed. Transit will also free road capacity for those who wish to use it.

Yes, a MetroMover extension to the port is the likely best option. I have drawn a potential high level alignment of that, although it would likely need additional stops, one for each terminal, and express service to each. This would directly connect the port of miami visitors with numerous hotels across the urban core, parking facilities (that are already used for port overflow parking), and the mterorail, tri-rail and brightline, it is a no-brainer. The only people I think would be opposed to a metromover extension to the Port would be the Taxis and rideshare companies.

I've had 452 menstrual cycles. That's at least $15,000 spent on maxi pads and ibuprofen. Women should get a tax deduction for this involuntary shit. Or get pads and tampons for free. Tired of my cramps being capitalized on.

@JbcTrader @NickGarzilli That's pre-tax. The average cost of owning a car is now $13,000 each year. Doesn't leave much for, oh, let's say housing, food, health care, kids And more importantly, why should everyone be required or essentially forced to pay $13,000 a year for a car? nytimes.com/interactive/20…
