Earlier today the NYS Board of Elections invalidated our signature petitions to enter the June 25 Republican primary, thus bringing our campaign for the NY-03 open seat to a close. We are disappointed in the result and the actions of the @NassauNYGOP and their hand-picked candidate, @TheMikeLiPetri as they’ve gone to great lengths to eliminate competing candidates in #NY03. Simply put: nominating a candidate ahead of an open seat primary and then relying upon technicalities and vague, outdated petition forms to eliminate valid signatures of registered NY-03 Republicans denies legitimate candidates a fair and leveled playing field.

Just as disappointed and aggrieved are #NY03 Republican taxpayers, who are denied an opportunity to choose their representative, effectively being told that their votes don’t matter. Yes, at a time when our party desperately needs unity, the actions by the Nassau County GOP have instead isolated and disenfranchised large portions of NY-03 Republicans. This not only affects Republican taxpayers but also hurts their candidate, Mr. LiPetri, as he won’t be subject to scrutiny or take part in any vigorous debate until he competes against Tom Suozzi in November.

On the heels of the Santos and special-election embarrassments, these actions show how out of touch the Nassau County GOP is with the constituents they are supposed to serve. Indeed, instead of shepherding a robust and transparent primary they have disrespected these constituents as well as the four qualified candidates who seek to run against Mr. LiPetri.

As for me, the next move is to be determined but rest assured that, in some shape or form, I am committed to serving the dedicated citizens of District-03.

Finally, to my many supporters and volunteers, I say “Thank you.” I begin with my wife of 35 years, Jeanine, for her commitment and support throughout our life together as well as this tough campaign. It was an enjoyable – and educational – process and you can bet that, if there is a next time around for me, I will be ready. toesforcongress.com/nassau-county-…

Strange numbers. Here's how much Pres. Biden's presidential library has raised compared to previous 6 Presidents: Biden: ONLY $4m (goal was $200m to $300m) Obama: $1.5B to $1.6B George W. Bush: $500m + Clinton: $165m George H.W. Bush: $43m Reagan: $57-$60m Carter: $26m (In 1981) How does the most popular president of all with 81m+ votes in 2024 only get $4m from his supporter to build his library? Makes you wonder.

Let's understand a few things about what's actually about to happen here if Zohran gets his way -- which he almost certainly will, unless courts intervene. First and foremost, Cea Weaver and DSA 'organizers' will be unleashed with the full institutional and legal support of the city government to ramp up tenant complaints in targeted buildings. No complaint will be too small. No building will be too small. Everything will be treated as catastrophic. Full-scale demagoguery will ensue, complete with protests, rent strikes, street theater, and harassment of property owners. Accordingly, the city buildings department will be weaponized to begin writing as many violations as possible in order to bolster the city's effort to justify a seizure. It won't matter how small or large the violations are, the total number will be breathlessly cited as evidence of mismanagement. It will be impossible for landlords to clear these violations in good faith. The combination of a weaponized buildings department writing hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines, rent strikes, and constant threats and harassment against landlords by militant activists will make the situation untenable for any property owner to realistically fight back, and the city will seize the property. The landlord will be lucky to walk away without prison or being beaten to death in the street by an angry mob (as Zohran's buddy Hasan Piker referred to landlords -- 'let the streets run red with their capitalist blood'). But that's only the first half of the plan, and everyone needs to pay very close attention to the big picture here, because it's hugely important and has national implications. The properties will then be turned over to nonprofits. This is no small detail. This is in fact the whole point. The idea here is to build up Zohran's DSA-connected nonprofits with a multbillion-dollar portfolio of hard assets -- New York City real estate. This portfolio could theoretically reach into the hundreds of billions or even the trillions, depending on how aggressive they get. Now these highly political nonprofits would become the new land barons of New York, complete with all the political clout, leverage, and reach that goes along with it. It would be a true nightmare scenario. As it stands now, the nonprofits depend mostly on the largesse of grants, donations, and other third-party resources to stay afloat. They are lavishly funded of course, and many do hold significant assets, but it would all pale in comparison to simply handing them the keys to a New York City real estate empire, courtesy of Zohran Mamdani and the DSA. The resources at their disposal would be immense. The organizing potential that goes along with those resources will have national implications. Every DSA candidate in every town and city in the country would be trained, funded, and staffed by organizers with ties to the NYC nonprofit empire backed by a trillion dollars in free real estate. And they would be shameless in leveraging those resources for pure political power. That's the game plan here. That's the whole ball of wax. Zohran isn't interested in making housing better for anyone. If he was, we'd be talking seriously about solving the NYCHA disaster. Hell, if he was even remotely sincere about seizing these properties from 'bad landlords' for the 'public good' he'd be focused on turning them over to the city itself, as misguided as that would be. No, this is about nothing more than consolidating political power for the DSA. Just like everything else these people do. Giving the DSA a massive war chest backed by seized real estate. Once you understand that they have no interest in fixing anything other than elections, it all makes a lot more sense.
Brecca Stoll@breccastoll

NOW: Mamdani says his admin will transfer ownership from bad landlords to non-profits. “For buildings that have suffered chronic neglect, we will work to transfer ownership to responsible stewards. Stewards that include community land trusts, non-profits, or even the tenants themselves.”

@VickieforNYC @GovKathyHochul there was a time when the Catholic Church provided schools, hospital care, food kitchens & shelters for our great city. It was called the Power House. Mayor Koch respected this. Today, our gov’t doesn’t . As Tony Montana said in Scarface “look at you now”.

@VickieforNYC There was a day when Democratic Mayors of NYC had the vision for major infrastructure projects. McLennan built aqueducts for our water & the subway system Dewitt Clinton built the grid. Today’s Democratic Socialists don’t have that vision nor the political will or means.

🚨 HOLY SMOKES. ICE has just announced a jaw-dropping fraud bust, saying 10,000 FOREIGN students are involved in the federal government's Optional Practical Training There are EMPTY BUILDINGS where HUNDREDS of students should be "working" as part of their ability to be in America — run by foreign-linked groups that send money out of the country! Locked doors, hundreds of students sharing the SAME ADDRESS, and "employers" sharing the same unleased addresses There is a widespread "phantom employee" fraud going on. This is insane. Many of the so-called "employers" have major red flags, such as facing lawsuits, no employment records, offshore payroll claims, and suspicious INTERNATIONAL MONEY flows "HSI agents have visited problematic OPT employer work sites in Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Florida." "Foreign students themselves are entering false addresses and employer names into the student and exchange visitor information system." "But we are uncovering evidence of organized fraud that spans national and international borders. This is not accidental. It is deliberate, coordinated, and criminal." "To give you an example, one employer we visited claimed to employ only three foreign students through OPT, while our records show over 500 foreign students claiming to work there." "The company's representatives were unable to answer basic questions about the business and deferred HR managers in India." "OPT employers are required to directly train foreign students, but we've seen multiple examples of alleged employers claiming that all management is overseas in India." "We've also discovered multiple state networks which are large networks of alleged employers claiming to train thousands of foreign students in OPT, then farming them out to unreported third party employers, making oversight nearly impossible and raising serious national security issues."

@VickieforNYC Socialism hurts the lower income people first and the hardest. Their claims of “protecting” the less fortunate are hollow. For their next act, Socialist Democrats will blame Spirit’s bankruptcy on greedy evil Wall Street as they never accept accountability for their actions.

Socialism kills competition, business, and jobs. There’s really nothing else to say. Everything these people touch turns to crap. They either have no idea how anything works, or don’t care. Or both. It’s a poisonous ideology that will destroy us, and they must be stopped.

The shooter from last night was a CalTech grad who had just got his graduate degree in computer science. He was staying at the hotel. The shooting happened the floor above the ballroom. Despite Trump trying to use this to push forward his ballroom project, it’s unclear if Trump was even the target! He was not politically affiliated. I gifted this so you can read it. wsj.com/us-news/caltec…

@jimfornyc Good read. The social media campaign that took place so quickly after 10/7 left many suspect that its organizers knew about the attack beforehand. I hope this suit brings clarity and proof that those suspicions were true.

I cannot imagine the gall required to bill a $17k yacht rental to your campaign, much less trips to a Dubai resort. Incredible that this is just standard operating procedure for this guy.

NEWS Eric Swalwell’s new and prior financial disclosures show a mix of questionable charges to his campaign, and dubious tax and cash management strategies amid signs of a cash crunch worsened by overspending on a high-flying lifestyle. Swalwell runs a high-earning $461K two-income household, but still charged dubious expenses to his campaign, made chronic and risky delays in paying income taxes, and made precarious withdrawals from retirement accounts. He charged more than $244,000 in childcare expenses—tuition, daycare—to his campaign from 2019 to 2025, his disclosures show and the Sacramento Bee found. That’s the highest in the House, with nearly $60,000 in 2022 alone. Here’s the possible ethics problem. They are permitted under FEC law only if the charges are incurred in years the candidate is running for office or performing campaign duties. But in three of those six years he was not running for office. He charged $20K in childcare costs just days after his 2024 re-election. These FEC laws are notably lax (House members rarely charge these costs to their campaigns, reportedly only 68 during that time frame). The reporting has been out there that Swalwell has also charged luxury items to his campaign, such as stays at high-end hotels (including a well-known luxury hotel in Dubai), a $17K yacht rental, and costly airfare and travel totaling tens of thousands of dollars. He charged $360K for car and limo services paid to a campaign staffer since 2021, reports show, and he charged for thousands of dollars spent on restaurants. Swalwell’s campaign spent nearly $90,000 on travel in just the last quarter of 2023. His household has large student loan debt, up to $100K, $15K-50K credit card balances, and a $1M-5M mortgage. One of the biggest red flags his financial world is out of control is he reduced or zeroed out his tax withholding on his congressional salary in some years, effectively delaying paying federal taxes and incurring penalties. Also he and his wife pulled significant cash, more than $145,000, from retirement accounts over several years. #News @EveningEdit @FoxBusiness @FoxNews @ap @CBSNews @abc @ReutersBiz @reuters @WhatsNewsWSJ @WSJ #ericswalwell @ericswalwell
