I'm a PGW vet, and TBH, I never saw a single impressive French soldier while there. They were all physically unfit, seemingly untrained, and generally embarrassing. It was also very clear that none of them wanted to be there. Now the Brits (especially the Desert Rats) and the Aussies were tough. Kudos to those guys!

@Zydeco72 @Mericamemed The first time I flew in one was at night under light discipline - so I couldn't really see anything but soon realized I was getting wet from something dripping from above. Yep, I was soaked in hydraulic fluid by the end of the flight.

How many older generation @AlabamaFTBL fans have this bottle?

The Tide Machine@TideMachine

The game that immortalized Paul “Bear” Bryant and spawned commemorative Coca-Cola bottles still cherished by fans happened 44 years ago today when No. 4-ranked @AlabamaFTBL rallied to beat Auburn, 28-17, as Bryant won his 315th game on Nov. 28, 1981 in Legion Field. After falling behind 17-14 early in the fourth quarter, Alabama responded with two touchdowns to ensure Bryant passed Amos Alonzo Stagg for the most Division I coaching victories. Walter Lewis started the comeback with a 38-yard touchdown pass to Jesse Bendross and Linnie Patrick followed with a 15-yard scoring run. Alabama played three quarterbacks against Auburn as Alan Gray scored the first Crimson Tide touchdown on a 1-yard run in the first quarter. Ken Coley came in and threw a 26-yard scoring pass to Bendross in the third quarter. “About the record the players set today,” Bryant said afterwards. “I want to thank the good Lord for being associated with all the people who made it possible. It’s been a hard year for me. I wasn’t strong enough or bright enough to handle it. Only the last week has it really dawned on me that so many people were involved.” The victory over his former assistant, Pat Dye, also clinched Bryant’s 13th SEC championship, as the Crimson Tide tied with Georgia as both finished 6-0 in conference play.

🚨🇺🇸 OBAMA: AMERICA FACES A POLITICAL CRISIS “This is a political crisis… and when the weight of the U.S. government backs extremist views, we’ve got a problem.” Obama called Kirk’s assassination “a tragedy” and warned that political violence threatens all Americans, regardless of ideology. He rebuked Trump and his allies for rushing to blame the left, accusing them of fueling division instead of uniting the country. Source: NBC News

🇺🇸 OBAMA: NO MATTER THE MOTIVATION, THE KIRK SHOOTING WAS A VILE ACT "We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their 2 young children." Source: @BarackObama

Israel isn’t getting enough credit for what just happened in Yemen. On Thursday, Israel carried out a targeted airstrike in the capital city of Sanaa, eliminating the self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Yemen’s Houthi government, as well as his entire cabinet. In a single strike, Israel liquidated the leadership of one of the world’s most heinous terrorist groups – something no other country in the world has ever done. This isn’t just a victory for Israel – it’s a victory for all of us. In addition to waging a violent insurgency against the Yemeni government for over a decade, the group has also targeted countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE with drone and missile attacks. They've killed multiple crew members of international shipping vessels, and they've repeatedly waged war against Israel, sending millions running for shelter, many, many times. Now, though, the group’s operational and strategic capabilities have been set back – and the message is clear: the reach of Israel is limitless. Indeed, since October 7th, the Jewish state has carried out the most impressive and successful counterterrorism campaign in history – and they aren’t done yet. Another day, another mission, and another instance of Israel doing the world’s dirty work.

Imagine the complete disconnect CBS must have from the day-to-day life of Americans to look at the deportation of thousands of violent criminal illegal aliens and still pen this title. This means our officers found almost 1,000 CONVICTED MURDERERS. Not alleged, not charged, not on trial. Murderers who had been convicted and were still on our streets. These are not serious people. ICE is working day and night to remove the MILLIONS of illegal aliens that the Biden administration released into our interior.

@spann While doing some broadcast journalism stuff at Troy U., I was very fortunate to have spent a few moments with Bob Howell in studio...probably around 1988...while Rich Thomas was giving us the grand tour of WSFA. Mr. Howell was gracious and helpful...and will long be remembered.

After hearing about the death of long time WSFA-TV anchor Bob Howell, my mind has drifted back often to my stint at Channel 12 in 1978/79 when I worked with him. Bob was so talented he could have worked in any major TV market, but he chose to stay home. He taught me so much about broadcasting, communication, and getting it right. I am so thankful for the time I spent with him. I cherish the days at 10 East Delano in Montgomery so long ago. I was 22 years old, and the lessons learned from people like Bob are still with me today.

🚨 🇺🇸 JUDGE ORDERS USAID FUNDS RELEASED — FOR THE THIRD TIME Federal judge slams Trump admin for continuing to freeze foreign aid despite two prior court orders. When questioned about compliance, DOJ lawyer admitted he was "not in a position to answer." Trump argues the agency wastes taxpayer money and funds liberal agendas under the guise of aid. 🚨 🇺🇸 POSTAL WORKERS RALLY AS USPS FINANCIAL CRISIS DEEPENS Union members protested potential privatization plans in DC, with NALC President Renfroe claiming it would "harm rural areas disproportionately." Meanwhile, the numbers tell a devastating story—USPS lost $9.9B in 2024 and sits $32.6B underwater. Despite serving 169M addresses daily, the agency's finances are collapsing: cash reserves halved to $4.6B while compensation and benefits consume 72% of all revenue. Reform seems inevitable with these numbers. Source: USPS, NBC Media: @APWUnational Newsweek

🚨🇺🇸 POSTAL SERVICE BLEEDING BILLIONS: DOGE AUDIT NEEDED ASAP The USPS financial nightmare demands DOGE's immediate attention. With a staggering $9.9 billion operating loss in 2024 and total liabilities of $78.2 billion against assets of just $45.6 billion, the Postal Service is effectively underwater by $32.6 billion. Despite implementing a 10-year plan, the USPS saw its losses increase by nearly $3 billion this year. Most concerning: cash reserves dropped from $8 billion to just $4.6 billion while debt jumped to $15 billion. The problem isn't just declining mail volume—it's bloated compensation ($54 billion) and retirement benefits ($10.4 billion) that swallow 72% of all revenue. DOGE could identify cost-cutting opportunities in inefficient delivery routes, outdated facilities, and administrative bloat. Without intervention, taxpayers will inevitably foot this growing bill.
