@W8LR_Jerry @KN2K1 I got shushed when plying back the contact I just made for them because someone was sitting there talking on the phone in the middle of the field day pavilion. I almost packed up and left right there.

I got turned off to field day due to old men yelling at each other about the best ways to setup wire antennas. Now I only have to show up for a few minutes and make my satellite contact, have a hot dog and a soda, and I can leave, and people are happy.

Out doing POTA and listening to the emergency frequencies. Hearing a few counties away multiple helicopters being called out and at least 4 ambulances. Wasn't getting them too strong on the car antenna so I setup the yagi.

@thek5yvy I don't know why everyone gets so hung up on "ideal" or "perfect" condx. I live up a holler so my challenges are many. I'm getting ready to put up an EFHW for 40-10...I won't be able to erect it perfectly, but I bet it might work any way hi hi

We are doomed! This is a real challenge for a lot of folks operating POTA from parking lots… If they had only known before the long drive that such risk factors would exist once they arrived…

@N4JAW Thanks Jim....seems like there are a lot of EFHW antennae out there these days. Think I'm going to give it a go. Found one for $55 which seems reasonable.
