As a loss mom in the early days (2 early miscarriages)
I never called myself a Dog Mom. I was a mom
I did only have the opportunity to mother my dogs but that didn’t define my journey.

When you see 2 lines on a pregnancy test, you are a mother, and you maintain that title for the rest of your life. You don't lose that title because you lost them at any age. Having a pet after losing a child doesn't make you included on Mother's Day. It's your child.

I can't even imagine doing this for "just dating."

Never let a dog in the house when I was a kid. Sleep with them in the bed and buys them happy meals now. Its bizarre to me.

Serious question:
Why is there a huge "DEI" push to open Mother's Day to pet owners and "Dad moms" and not a similar push on Father's Day? My suspicion is that women are more sensitive to feeling at all excluded while most men don't care.
