@mrojaycutler My first month of bodybuilding this was the first magazine I bought in 1997 for knowledge. The thought that got me to buy it was "man I wanna look like that guy on the cover". Who knew "that guy" would become 4-time Mr Olympia.

@noxestyle @bryan_johnson @maximumpain333 Ronnie had a back injury in high school football that got progressively worse over time. But the biggest damage occurred by a doctor messing up a surgery. Otherwise he would only have a minor back problem and would've still been able to walk.

The most dangerous lie in human history isn’t about food. It isn’t about medicine. It is about sleep. For 200,000 years, humans did not sleep 8 hours. That number was invented in 1938 by a mattress company called Simmons Beautyrest. Before that campaign, the average human slept in two shifts. Historians call it “Biphasic Sleep.” You would sleep for 4 hours, wake up for 2, then sleep for another 4. During that 2-hour window, people would pray, have s*x, write, think, and connect with their families. Some of the greatest works in human history were created in that sacred middle window. Shakespeare wrote most of his plays between 1AM and 3AM during his second wake period. Mozart composed entire symphonies in what he called “The God Hours.” Then the Industrial Revolution needed workers on a fixed schedule. You cannot run a factory on biphasic sleep. So they hired a psychologist named Dr. Nathaniel Kleitman to “prove” that 8 consecutive hours was the biological standard. He faked the studies. He was funded entirely by the mattress industry. And the medical establishment adopted his research without question because it aligned with the factory model. They turned the most creative 2 hours of human consciousness into a “sleep disorder.” They called it “Insomnia.” They medicated it. They gaslight an entire generation that 8 hours of continuous sleep was healthy. They pathologized the exact window of consciousness that produced some of the greatest art, music, and literature in human history. You are not an insomniac. You are experiencing the most natural form of human consciousness. And a mattress company convinced you it was a disease. Stop medicating your genius. Wake up at 2AM. Write the thing. The “God Hours” are calling. ✨🙌🏾💫 © Andre Gonzalves

@bryan_johnson @maximumpain333 Tell that to 4 time Olympia champion Jay Cutler who slept in 2 4-hour shifts for 20 years. He would get up after 4 hours, eat a meal, then go back to sleep after an hour. 8-time Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman did the same.

@maximumpain333 This advice is dangerous. Chronic sleep fragmentation raises cortisol, accelerates epigenetic aging, and impairs glucose regulation. Insomnia is associated with depression, metabolic disease, and early mortality.

$UNH $CLOV $HUM $ALHC Today CMS dropped its final rule for how Medicare Advantage and Part D drug plans will work starting in contract year 2027, and there are some meaningful takeaways for anyone holding shares in companies like UnitedHealth, Humana, or Clover Health. The biggest thing is they're shaking up the Star Ratings system, which is the quality scoring system that directly determines how much bonus money these insurers get from the government. CMS is pulling out 11 measures that were mostly about paperwork and administrative box checking, and they're also scrapping a newer health equity focused reward program before it ever kicked in. Instead they're keeping the old reward system that just pays plans for being consistently good across the board. They're also adding a new depression screening measure, which signals CMS wants plans paying more attention to mental health. For insurers, the Star Ratings changes are a big deal because even a small shift in stars can mean billions of dollars in bonus payments across the industry. On the drug plan side, CMS is basically locking in all the Inflation Reduction Act changes that have been rolling out over the past couple years. That means the "donut hole" coverage gap is officially gone for good, out of pocket costs for seniors are capped at a lower amount, and there's no more cost sharing once someone hits catastrophic coverage. There's also a manufacturer discount program baked in now that replaces the old coverage gap discount setup. For the insurance companies this is mostly just formalizing what's already been happening, but it does mean these rules are now permanent and harder to undo. The other thing worth paying attention to is that CMS is rolling back a bunch of regulatory requirements that were put in place over the last few years. They're getting rid of rules that forced plans to send extra notices to members about unused benefits, removing health equity requirements from utilization management committees, and loosening restrictions on how agents and brokers can talk to potential customers. That last piece could actually help insurers spend less on compliance and make it easier to market their plans. The general vibe of this rule is that CMS is trying to simplify things and cut red tape, which on balance is probably a net positive for the big MA players since it lowers their administrative costs and gives them a bit more flexibility in how they run their businesses.

$HOOD $SOFI $CLOV $UNH $PLTR $FMCC Oil is trading around $103 per barrel today because of the U.S. Iran conflict and the Strait of Hormuz closure, but adjusted for inflation that is only equivalent to about $69 per barrel in 2008 dollars when oil peaked at $147, and about $91 per barrel in 2022 dollars when oil peaked at $130 during the Russia Ukraine war. In real purchasing power terms we are nowhere close to prior crisis levels and Goldman Sachs estimates $14 to $18 of the current price is a temporary geopolitical fear premium that evaporates once the strait reopens. History shows these spikes always unwind and with oil sitting at roughly half the inflation adjusted 2008 peak this looks like a buy the dip opportunity.

@worldhockeyrpt Unbelievable that this guy is getting paid to be a Hockey analyst. A person who's never watched hockey before could have better takes. There is a galactic gap between NCAA and the NHL. 20-0 would be the score if the worst NHL team played the best NCAA team.

Here's a chart of $CLOV with $OSCR price overlapping... Notice anything here? You have a few divergences, but the algorithms and "baskets" keep bringing the price action back to parody. This is a sector wide sell-off that is impacting all managed care names, alongside a market wide risk off rotation due to the war in Iran. People can keep screaming at Clover Management, but you'd be better served by acknowledging the fact that nearly every other name in the sector has had similar price declines over the past year and this is not unique to CLOV.

$clov the most important AI company in healthcare just closed at another 52 week low for what seems like the 10th day in a row! Maybe take care of your investors, and actually tell someone what the fuck @CloverHealth and @counterparthlth are doing?

Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada has addressed the growing controversy over Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau's unilingual response to Sunday night's fatal collision in New York. While the mayor said it was not her role to decide whether Rousseau should resign — something a provincial minister called for on Wednesday — she added that she understands why others are calling for it. "Treating people with dignity also means speaking their language," she said. “And I think he failed in that regard — not just once, but on several occasions now.” Full story: montrealgazette.com/news/quebec/ai… #PolMTL

$CLOV Retail trading activity has plummeted, which pretty much shows that traders are now sitting on their hands. The last time this happened was in the fall of 2024. If I reflect back on that period, Clover Health was trading under $1.

Wrong again. Did I say anything about 4 stars? You're delusional. The Judge denied the motion to dismiss... literally means that the plaintiff has a legitimate argument... aka the case has legs. We all want 4 stars, but the context of the case is much wider than that. CMS is going to have to try and publicly defend their ratings methodology, which they have admitted is broken. Implications extend far beyond just Clover and could potentially impact the entire MA market.
