Mosaddegh started the process of nationalizing Iran’s oil. He wanted to spend Iran’s oil profits on the Iranian people’s needs, instead of handing his country’s profits over to the US & big oil. The US wasn’t going to let Iran or sovereign nation sell their own oil & have it paid for by any other currency than the US dollar. So, the US carried out one of their many regime change operations in Iran & replaced Mosaddegh with the Shah, who went on to violate the rights of countless women & girls until he fled the country during the Iranian Revolution. The US knew women would become collateral damage when they overthrew Mosaddegh in 53 & installed the shah anyway, but controlling the sale of other countries’ oil to take their profits is more important than protecting women. The Shah was no better than the supreme leaders when it came to women’s rights, because both govts violated women’s rights in different ways. And from 1953 to the present, Israel pushed the US for Iran’s regime change to make it easier for their rogue, little nuclear state to illegally expand their borders. So, perhaps you & Jean should condemn the US & Israel’s regime change operations. Overthrowing heads of sovereign nations to replace them with ultra conservative dictators not only hurts women, it also indefinitely suppresses their human rights.
