In 2026 one of the skills that every software engineer, developer or architect will need is the knowledge of quickly identifying the root cause in (unknown) code. This will be a differentiation factor, as more and more code will be AI generated and developers will not know all portions of the code. Being able to visualize the data flow and/or the code flow in your head will proof you to be human and show that your brain is still more capable than any AI coding assitent. I joined a startup as a Product Builder. This role didn’t exist 12 months ago. I literally manifested this role for the last 12 months. The CTO was impressed by a product my team built at a hackathon 3 weeks ago. Now, everyday is a hackathon. Most of my work is in French. I’m tired at the end of each day. Operating at the edge of my capabilities. Playing with our mascot is my favourite work break. More on this coming soon.
