@shivmalik But the person doing my job now earns a lot more than I did then. We bought what we could afford on our wages. The things people pay for today didn't even exist back then. Streaming, internet, mobile phones, to name but a few. These are monthly bills we never had.

Dear boomers, can you afford to buy the house you live in currently with the wage you used to earn before you retired? If you can’t, then that’s the whole housing problem in a nutshell. It really is that simple to understand.

Can I ask why, if a pensioner has worked all their life, they only have the state pension to rely on? Didn’t decide to save ? Put away for a rainy day ? Sounds like poor planning to me. And yes if your children have flown the nest and you, or you and your spouse are knocking around in a 3 or 4 bedroom house you bought decades ago- SELL it. You’ll have more than enough to live on.

Every time I step into Walmart I lose a little more faith… Why are people out here shopping in full sleep mode? Pajamas, slippers, hair looking like they fought a tornado and lost. Did nobody think, “maybe I should actually get dressed before going out in public”? I’m not asking for anything fancy — just basic effort. The bar is literally on the floor and people are still crawling under it. It’s not just lazy, it’s straight up embarrassing.

@Muse_ts Your question is the one that none of those flat earther can answer. WHY hide it. Not to mention how would you hide it once people discovered telescopes and started looking up. If the earth were flat that would be found out pretty quickly by people not involved in the cover up.

@code_mom_ @girlcloudnine Yes but it could be any word. They cannot differentiate between the word Apple and Sit. If you trained them to sit using Apple they would still sit. They don't know that an Apple is a fruit. They are amazing animals but they don't understand language only reward for action.

@MandersSnark1 @girlcloudnine if you’re training them correctly, they behave for the WORD not the situation or the inflection. They can learn left vs right, signed commands, specific whistles for specific tasks, even counting to a certain extent. How is that not language?
